An open invitation from Active Biotech (laquinimod-- oral treatment for MS currently in trials) for their general MS update meeting with Teva (makers of Copaxone), who has partnered with them to bring laquinimod to market. Besides being informative on its own, this will give a rare chance to ask pointed questions about the MS drug pipeline from one of the leading companies coupled with one of the most promising. Background
On June 14, 2004, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) and
Active Biotech signed an agreement to develop and commercialise laquinimod,
Active Biotech's novel immunomodulatory compound, which has the potential to
be an orally available disease modifying treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS).
The agreement gives Teva the exclusive rights to develop, register,
manufacture and commercialise laquinimod worldwide, with the exception of the
Nordic and Baltic countries, where Active Biotech will retain all commercial
rights.
