If you are not getting the screening and treatment that you feel you should be getting from the health care system in Canada you should let Health Canada know.

They deal with concerns from people not getting the care they need. You could address it to:

Ms. Lucie Desforges,
Director,
Office of Consumer and Public Involvement,
Health Products and Food Branch, Health Canada.

address is
11 Holland Avenue, Holland Cross
Tower A, Suite 513 A.L 3005A
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0K9

or email lucie_desforges@hc_sc.gc.ca

The Barrie Vascular Screening is not charging. They are doing their own study so it's free. They told me that they only do the Jugular vein, not the azigos vein. They claim to have done over 300 scans, to the Zamboni protocol. Does the Zamboni protocol exlude the Azigos vein? (I'm a business guy, not a doctor. so these are just names of veins to me  )

The Azygos vein can only be seen by an MRI machine with a procedure called an MRV or a veinography. I was in hospital the last couple of days and had to have an MRI and I asked the tech's there if they do the MRV's for MS. And they advised me only if Dr. McDonald orders them. Zamboni protocol does not exclude the Azygos vein at all. Maybe Dr. McDonald is only going to be dealing with jugular veins at this time. But this is just a guess.

So, I can be "normal", ie, open Jugular, but still have stenosis in my Azygos vein and not know it? Dr MacDonald from Oakville? If so , is he a vascular doctor or intervention radiologist? I think the Dixie Imaging does MRVs, if not, there's a facility in Gatineau,Que that does.

As far as I understand from listening to the coverage on CTV,W5 coverage on TV. As I remember it they said that most M'Sr's had the Azygos vein blocked as well as the Jugular veins. This Dr. McDonald that I am talking about is in Barrie, ON. MAKE SURE TO WATCH W5 THIS SATURDAY AT 7:00pm this is a follow up on the CCSVI or Liberation Treatment. I can't say anymore but it is well worth the watch. Prepare to be amazed.

Careful - because not all mrv's can see the azygous vein and you NEED to confirm this. I did my mrv in Frankfurt and it could not get to the azygous vein. The doctor needed to examine the vein when I was on the table.

Go to see DR. SANDY MACDONALD in BARRIE ONTARIO

Barrie Vascular Imaging

50 Alliance Blvd - Barrie - L4M 1L2

705-722-8738 - Fax # 705-728-3053

He is the only Dr trained by Dr Zamboni to be able to capture the problem and interpret it as well

Please do not waste your time with that other clinic.

My boyfriend just got it done there today!
