I just posted a full account of the venogram "liberation procedure" I underwent earlier this week. It's rather long, so I'll just post the link:

Wow, thank you for sharing that! At least you've helped to continue to prove that where there is MS there is a venous problem. Every venous problem may not be treatable right now but because of this all coming forth now, I'm sure in the near future all will be addressed.
Best wishes to you and to your lovely wife!

Wow, what an experience. Did Dr Scalfani have any insight about why the venogram differed so much from your CT?

Marc,

Thanks a lot for writing this up. It was very informative.

I hate to admit it, but his part made me laugh a bit:
Quote:
As for the obstruction in my azygos vein, Dr. Sclafani thinks that there is an instrument that he didn't have on hand during my procedure which he could use to reach the area of stenosis and balloon it open.

It reminded me of the times I was in the middle of fixing something on my car, and found I didn't have the right tool, and spent the next few hours running around town trying to find it.

Mark, thank you friend.
If i may say, i agree with your doctor not being positive about placing stents.
I am sorry it didn't come easy on you but the way i see it, it's more of a success rather than a failure and we can all understand why.

Please, go safe and keep us posted as you always do.

I think I know exactly how you feel. At least you know where the problems are...now we must wait for some genius doctor to develop new strategies for treatment. My husband's doctor also did not have the right tool...a balloon in her case, but on the second visit, she was successful! There is hope.
Thanks for the details and the pictures say a lot.
