Great news, Babiezuique. I think people would like to know how you got in early... did you tell them that you were ready to come on short notice?

Not sure if they decided to setup schedules geographically, I got the same e-mail as babiezuique, and I'm from Montreal as well, 21th and 22th of June, oh and a please respond by the 20th of May, tomorrow... Not much time to set things up IMO.

BTW, how are you feeling since the "liberation" fiddler?

Hi Hab,

I've had a few improvements over the last few days... better balance, better walking, a little better manual dexterity and more energy. It's going to be a long healing process and I don't know how far it'll go, but it seems that even us SPMSers can hope for some real improvements, not just an arrested progress of the disease.

When were you originally scheduled to go? And you didn't indicate that you would be willing to go on short notice? Some MSers following my blog would certainly be interested in your answers since they are scheduled for 2012.

...Ted

Well, I'm a PPMSer, and I never received any message since I sent my request, which was in late december, I simply went from one clinic to the next making requests, and my wife finally got the email this morning from Dr. Simka's group... I figure, hey, this is Dr. Simka's clinic, might as well go for it.

But, I think a few bailed out and they decided to look for replacements. Found it strange that the week before us, there are two people, that we know of, from Toronto being liberated... Coincidence??? Not sure... Maybe they plan on liberating Canada, city by city, before the feds cave-in and offer it to everybody...

HEY

PS. Good stuff on your improvements... Hope to join you :)

I don't know about your particular situation, but it sounds like there are lots of Canadians in almost every cohort going through... one British lady undergoing liberation complained that she would have a Canadian accent by the time she got back home! :-) Lots of MS here, and not much real movement in the medical community to do something about it.

Good luck with your trip. Pray to the volcano gods.

Good for you. That's exactly what happened to me, except I had even shorter notice. There are always Canadians there - what are our choices really?

You'll have a good trip - if you want som tips I'm always up for a coffee!

Oui babiezuique, je suis bilingue. Voici l'extrait du e-mail que j'ai recu:
"Dear Sir,

You've been put on a CCSVI treatment waiting list by dr Simka.

The treatment is possible earlier - it can possibly take place on 21st and 22nd June.

Are you interested in those dates ? Please let us know until Thursday 20th May.

IMPORTANT : Please inform us about your TELEPHONE NUMBER and wheather you'll
need WHEELCHAIR ADJUSTED accommodation.

Kind regards,

I assume that this is what you also received, and I received the price and procedure, and how to pay. I haven't payed yet and I asked for an extension in order to free up the funds, being on such short notice. But, essentially that was what I had gotten, and I never received any other e-mail response before this...

Hi Jaguar,

Yes, I might actually take you up on that... :)

Wouldn't mind getting some tips from Poland. And maybe if Babiezuique would like to join us, seeing that I unpurposely "highjacked" her thread... Sorry

... A get together before liberation!

Hab and Babie
I know of someone else going from Montreal on I think it is June 9.

I sent a bank transfer to Euromedic using the info that Marta gave in her email - no problem.

We could probably fill a coffee shop with Montrealers going/gone for liberation
