After one has had the procedure, and are home -whether you have a problem or not- where should you get care, your GP? What about checking your veins? I'm in
Winnipeg Canada so where would I go to get my veins checked to see that everything was alright?

Once I got back home (UK) after angioplasty I did the following:

1) Informed my neuro that I had CCSVI and that I had angioplasty (I was naughty and did not tell I was going to be tested).

2) Informed my GP. I showed him the pictures of the venography, angioplasty and letter from my vascular doctor requesting I needed a doppler scan as follow up. My GP referred me to a private hospital to have the test. I had it done about two months ago and it was okay.

3) Changed of neuro. The neuro that had overseen my case was not happy that I had such a risky and experimental treatment. So I found another one that agreed to oversee me after the angioplasty.

4) Have kept in contact with my vascular doc about my progress. I'll see him in two months.

thornyrose,
I too am from Winnipeg - went to Poland in April. Decided that I will have a doppler at false creek to see where things at at with my veins- figure vancouver is much closer than Poland.

Yes, exactly, much cheaper. For me either Vancouver or Barrie. What if any difference has it made, have you improved? Are your doctors here in Winnipeg aware that you had the procedure? :)

Initially the results were fantastic- but now, three months later I am pretty much back to where i started. Dr. Simka said to give it 6 months but I am planning to get a followup doppler in the next few weeks to see what, if anything has happened.
My neuro knows that I had a procedure but I did not see him prior to it.
Are you planning on getting a procedure?
