A poker story
I get ccsvi testing at the Hubbard Foundation next week in San Diego and will keep you posted regarding results.
This week I played in the WSOP Main event in Las Vegas and finished 85th out of over 7000 participants for $80,000. I also got a sponsorship deal while going deep in the event to bring my week to $100,000. The coolest part of this is that I was at the ESPN main feature table for 2 hours on day 5 and 5 hours on day 6. This means that I got some attention because of my disability while finishing deep in the tourney and got to help elevate MS awareness for us all because in addition to the hands I played that will be on TV, ESPN did a full length interview with me which should air. I did 2 magazine interviews and was involved in 4 tv interviews-most by ESPN. Here is the link to an article that came out yesterday; http://online.casinocity.com/article/ws ... son-100602
Hopefully I return in a year using a cane

It would be cool if I could return in a year a bit more mobile if I get some improvement or at least a slow down of progression - I will let all know how I do.PCakes wrote:wow Gary!! very cool!! ...congratulations!! and good job sneaking in 'the cause' in the midst of all that excitement..thank you!!

thanks for sharing!!! And congrats on the winnings and the expertise! I throw my hopes in there too that you'll return with a cane next year...and win big as well!

FYI if you missed episodes 19 and 20 of the WSOP tonight, they should rerun. Good to see you on there Gary. Too bad about those two folded flushes and the suckouts, but you played correctly. All about longevity at that point, every seat counts! Great profile anyways. Nice job.
