Good morning..
Gary, the following question was posted in facebook and is a curiousity of my own.. given your 'other' area of expertise..any thoughts?

I am looking for information on drainage from the optic nerve and how ccsvi angioplasty explains the frequency of visual improvement so many have experienced. I recall reading something, somewhere in the last week or so but for the life of me cannot find it. Can anyone help? t

non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy has long been a confusing etiology. This is a great article and when they refer to abortive therapy to be considered during the edema phase of the disease before infarction this would suggest ccsvi diagnostics and subsequent catheter venoplasty I would think. Perhaps patients with this condition would be referred for testing and treatment in the near future.
This article may be an illustration as to how the optic nerve may be very vulnerable to poor venous drainage . And it is interesting to see how many patients do report vision improvements post liberation.

thank you Gary.. there seems to be so much science around our individual symptoms with no avenue, at least in Canada, for testing and treatment individually.
Rhetorically.. isn't the possibility of vision loss enough cause for investigation and treatment?
