My wife had an ultrasound at Christchurch Radiology Group which has conducted 11 scans so far to the Zamboni protocol.
Her "left verterbral vein showed an abnormal physiological response with change in position from supine to erect". The radiographers conclusion was that this "raises the possibility of a stenosis of the hemiazygous vein".
Interestingly the location of the possible stenosis is exactly where my wife has complained of neck pain from for a number of years.
The radiographer was cautious on the conclusion and recommended we discuss the results with a neuro from Dunedin who is open to the theory. Unfortunately the neuro is not taking any more patients.
For us, a watchful waiting now as her MS is relatively mild so time to see what is the most effective treatement method. Stents look risky and fear with angioplasty would be re-stenosis with worse sypmtons than prior.
