[Edit: Changed title since realised i'd got the drug wrong]

Since Plavix seems to be the most commonly prescribed anti-clotting drug prescribed after the procedure... has anyone had any problems with it thus far? Or is it well tolerated generally?

I was dizzy-woozy on Plavix and my lips were numb. Now, neither symptom is unknown to me simply from my MS, but these were strong and persistent. After 3 months (and after checking with my GP) I went off it (just on aspirin since), and those symptoms went back to MS-normal.
To be honest, I couldn't tell you *for sure* what was from MS and was Plavix in that time, but I am happier not being in doubt now.

I have been on plavix for just three weeks, no side affects that I'm aware of. I was hoping my hair would start growing on my head, but the male pattern baldness gene is just too strong. :)

Plavix and/or Detralex made me feel sick, dizzy and weak. Stopped taking them and started to feel better again.

In about a week, my legs were all bruised. It looked like the bruises follwed the veins. I was told to stop the Plavix and just take aspirin (81mg) for 3 months.

^ Worse luck, JCB

So it does indeed seem to be generally well tolerated. Good news.

I started Plavix in May. No side effects at all.

I won't be going off it anytime soon on advice of IR here.

I have been on Plavix since August 13. I do bruise easily anyway, so the Plavix did allow for some rather spectacular bruising to occur with some rather minor bumps. How I wish I was more graceful.

Other than that, no side effects worth mentioning. I take my dose right before bed.

Two days after having the surgery, I woke up with terrible pain in all of my limbs to the point that I couldn't even get out of bed. I was burning and felt very itchy. When I turned on my bedroom light, I realized I had hives over my entire body. Obviously, I called the IR who wanted me to come back in immediately. He pronounced it as an allergic reaction to Plavix. Apparently it occurs in one out of every 10,000 patients. He switched me to low dose aspirin (81mg).

I have too have increased bruising. While I typically bruise easily, this bruising is very strange. It starts out with a like small spot and by the end of the day it turns into a larger bruise. I know I didn't bump into things in between my fingers and on other small areas. Is any one else experiencing weird bruising?

Sounds like they sorted you out quickly mmk. I hope you are coping well now?

Ok I got it wrong, it's Clexane they use in Poland, not Plavix.

So backtracking like mad...

How has everyone got on with CLEXANE? Generally well tolerated?

Excuse my mistake earlier

after I had a stent in Poland I was on Clexane once a day for 14 days and Plavix for 6 weeks extended to 6 months by my GP.

I did not feel well on Clexane, I was as if I had a Jello brain When I moved it felt as if my brain move and hit on my skull. Strange feeling, not dizzy.

This time I am on Lovenox (twice a day) until the coumadin level gets to INR of 2. It's been more than 3 weeks but I don't have that feeling.
