Anybody knows if Angioplasty for All is getting closer to get their Charity accreditation. I have a potential donator that requires a receipt.

Sorry to use this site for this but I am computer challenged
could not find the info on their site or any contact address except for the donation.

We collect money each year but there is no way ms Society will get a penny of it anymore!

We are evaluating where to give, we are thinking to split it between AFA, CCSVI-alliance and a portion to help individual in need to have the procedure.

If you have other ideas please share. We work hard to collect the money we would like to use it the best way possible. Preferably in Canada for tax purpose. (nothing agains the US, I have dual citizenship and my IR is in the States!)

Thank you for your help

Hi Vivavie-

From the AFA site, they still do not have it--not sure when it will be available. Perhaps e-mail them?

Quote:
Accounts will be transparent to all donors. The monthly statements will be posted for the donors to see our progress. As a donor, you should retain your proof of donation. We do not as of yet have any tax-free or charitable status.

CCSVI Alliance is a 501 c3 tax deductible charity, and we provide receipts for tax purposes. We've been working hard to spread information in the IR community, and have gotten many interested in studying CCSVI. And we would sure appreciate the support!
hope that helps,
cheer

Hi Cheerleader,

As stated in my post, CCSVI Alliance is very much on our list, your work is valuable to all of us. What we have to verify is if a charity receipt for a US organization is deductible for a Canadian income tax.

If there is an accountant reading this I would very much appreciate the info.

There is no contact list on the AFA site but I think I have found an email address for Diana Price.

I also want to thank you personnally for being so open in sharing your experience. The fact that your husband is doing great with one jug still partially stenosed is what keeps me fighting for my own very complicated Liberation. Best regards. S

vivavie - not sure if I understand your question correctly, but if you mean can you deduct a contribution a Canadian citizen makes to a US charity on his canadian income tax return, the answer is NO.

From the Canada Revenue Agency website:

"Generally, you cannot claim donations made to U.S. charities on your Canadian income tax."

Hope that answers your question.

Thank you Oreo!

Cheerleader,
This does not mean we will not support CCSVI Alliance but we do need tax deduction for part of the money. We exchange services for receipts for some of our events.
