The study has been done on rats. Humans need to wait

Studies on rats by Cambridge and Edinburgh University researchers identified how to help stem cells in the brain regenerate myelin sheath, needed to protect nerve fibres.

MS charities said the "exciting" Nature Neuroscience work offered hope of restoring physical functions.

But they cautioned it would be some years before treatments were developed

lol! I think rats do not get MS, docs induce them a similar demyelinating disease.

Call me skeptical on this but I rather wait until the trial is done on humans...

I thought the same thing with CCSVI at first. Went through the procedure and got nothing. Gotta be better than Chemo...

so label it off-topic. I, for one, am glad to hear about it and would not have if it had not been in this forum.

Although I am also skeptical. The rat model is so flawed. Curing rats means nothing at all -- except the researchers know how to cure rats of the same non-MS disease the researchers gave them in the first place.

So many rats, so many wasted lives....

Makes me sad.
