before I vote Liberal, I want to hear him say publicly that his government will launch clinical trials that include testing and treatment for CCSVI....I know he said it in a Dec. Globe and Mail interview but that was before the election call.....if he is really sincere (?) about it then we should hear it in his platform speeches now.....it's nice he has Dr. Duncan standing behind him but a lot of people do not know the significance of this....sorry for being cynical.....I am going to have a hard time voting for the Liberal candidate in my riding (not up to snuff, but I will do it if I feel it will help)

Please: we *must* do it. I am going against a lot of counterinfluences, because a) I've met Dr. Duncan and have absolute confidence in her as a scientist, educator, speaker, politician (yes I think she should be PM but don't think she wants to) and b) Ignatieff is far, far better than Harpo, for Canada.

Think what will happen if Harpo WINS! Or rather don't. You won't like that thought.

I got a direct invitation to attend the debate in person. I believe you *will* hear him say it there.

Wow! How did that happen?!? I'm envious. Will you be there?

I agree with JJ, Iganatieff needs to say it--soon and often! Then, if he becomes PM. he needs to do it--again SOON!

Wow!! 1 eye are you going???? I too am envious ...

As far as Ignatieff saying 'it' ..that would be the icing but, we have to keep our heads on straight. CCSVI is a very specific issue targeting a very specific group. Campaign promises will always target the masses. We know that Ig is aware. I am putting my faith in Dr Duncan and the clout she will have if the Liberals win.
Vote Liberal!!

I got the invite, however it is first come first served. Probably had to do with brotherly connection which I donated to last election. I said this before, but I cannot send money to Jack on account of I want Mike Ignatieff to win a majority.

I may go but so far I don't even know where it is.

We asked the question. It may be very explicit. I want to be there if it s.

I'd say it's a fairly big "mass"......what's the number of pwMS...75,000 + family members + friends.....that's going to add up significantly.....if he really means it then why not say it....he's behind in the polls so it's a no brainer for a lot of instant votes.

There is only a very small percentage of MSer's even aware much less interested in pushing CCSVI research, and a much smaller # that would vote a candidate based upon it. Even TIMS has only a couple hundred people reading here at any given time, and that's worldwide. We may lose perspective here, thinking it's bigger than it is. Somehow, I don't realistically think CCSVI matters in terms of who gets elected.

I don't think there's more than a few hundred expected to attend the CCSVI rallies across Canada on May 5th. I would wager that even of those people, many will have bigger priorities for the feds than securing another CCSVI trial here. We have many many other important issues facing our country that influence who we vote for, even other important healthcare issues beyond another CCSVI trial.

yeah, I know there are a lot of "important" issues ......but this is "important' too....it's all relative....everybody has an agenda and this is mine in this election....I guess I have selfish motives this time around, hoping to bring Canada into the CCSVI arena, so to speak....(maternal instincts, what can I say)....

Kind of always better to be hopeful. I think it is important that people (yes, all Canadians) be aware of what is at stake here. I've been alive quite a few years, and never had so much directly to win or lose at election time.

There are many arrayed directly in opposition, and their job is much easier as long as polls point toward Conservatives, which they do right now. Harpo has a lot of money behind him.

What can a person do? Practice a short talk asking for support. Get confirmation of whether the person is listening, supportive, etc., before wasting your time trying to convert the nonconvertible. Talk on the phone, to people you know. Ask for their help. Tell them why they stand to benefit if the Liberals form a majority. Tell them how pwCCSVI will benefit. Send them a link to Kirsty Duncan's speech in Poland. Suggestions, anyone? I figure I'll talk to friends, people I know with 'MS'/CCSVI, relatives, PSW, medicos.

If I think I have a chance, I'll ask them to help by doing the same.

We have to try.

I'm thinking May the 5th is too late. We might need a rally before the election. How about May 1? Maybe get some Morris men in on it. Maybe I should ask Dr. Duncan for help.

Did someone mention Dr. Duncan??? :)

A reprise:

The next book she writes should be titled, "The History, Politics, and Science of CCSVI -- the fight for diagnosis and treatment."

Hi,

I agree with 1eye. May 5th is ridiculous. What is the
point of having the rally AFTER the election? It only
gives them the opportunity to ignore us for several more
years.

I also think we should meet on the hill before then.
Screw the required permits/licenses! Invite the media
and maybe they can witness pwMS getting arrested
for demonstrating peacefully. Would make a lovely
photo-op for Harpo and gang.

my 2 cents,
Mag00
