Don't know how important this is, but have just had an e-mail detailing that NICE is looking into the issues, they deem what should be done on NHS etc
http://guidance.nice.org.uk/IP/891

will anyone enlighten us to what, if any signicance this is??

Thanks :D [/url]

This is highly significant for UK. I would hope that CCSVI-UK organisation co-ordinates responses. I will submit to NICE personally.

edited to correct grammar, then spelling.

I first reported this last August:
Quote:
National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in the UK is monitoring progress and interest in angioplasty for CCSVI-
(This is a 180 from the official stance on "widening veins will not help pwMS" made last December--)

For UK residents to Register Interest:

and you replied, Mark...
http://www.thisisms.com/ftopic-13240-0- ... -nice.html

I hope this means they are continuing the monitoring,
cheer

Hello Cheer,
I have written for an influential newspaper but not submitted the dossier of data I would expect that NICE require. Are EHC behind this??? I suspect from the wording that an anti CCSVI group has asked for this NICE investigation in order to block simple balloon venoplasty or even testing in UK.

I will dig during the coming weeks.

If CCSVI-UK started this investigation you/they have shot themself in one foot with the title of the investigation. Referring to stents plays into the neuros hands by allowing them to cite patient deaths.
If NICE blocks balloon venoplasty then CCSVI in the UK will be set back 3-5 years.
If the person who submitted the investigation wants advice just get them to contact me. I worked as a pharmaceutical consultant for many years so have a basic knowledge of NICE.
