Well, Gary, there's natural and there's natural. I didn't mean listening to Donovan, or finding your inner angel, who clearly needs soothing. :-) I was thinking of magnesium, taurine, that sort of thing. (Although it sounds like you've already researched this angle.) Where is jimmylegs? Jimmylegs is our resident expert on all of this. Maybe a search?

Thanks Gary, I've never actually taken any "pills" for anything, barring "The Pill" in my younger days. I don't like to take anything, as reactions are common in our family to common drugs, chemicals and some food additives. My son, my sister and my father all have this.

I'm just hoping for more regular phlebs, with maybe a smaller amount being taken. Each person with hemochromatosis and Polycythemia tends to be quite unique as to how often or how much is good for them from what I've read, especially when iron levels are down to normal ranges, which mine now are.

I'll see the hemotologist soon hopefully ( through our public system so could be a wait there).

Neurotransmitters? I think it looks suspiciously like an astrology chart. "I'm a Gaba, Taurine rising . . " :-)

I wish I knew more about regulating serotonin. 5htp is a great idea, but what if the root problem was absorbing it? Have you got l-glutamine in your supplement cupboard?

Here's an article about another idea, the lovely substance-p (warning! the article mentions "naked mole rats"!):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Substance_P

adding this -- it's a menagerie out there -- tiny Yucatan piggies on treadmills, how can I resist? -- who knew these swine girls, their sweaty piggy flanks, playing piggy pranks, could help us find better vasodilators?

Well, no giant lab reports to wave around, but perhaps something there might be useful. Happy reading. :-)
