This "straw man" gathering is a way for the MSS to frame the CCSVI discussion in a light that appeases the large contingent of neurologists who sit on their advisory boards. No slides, video? The medium is clearly the message.

Kinda reminds me of the CIHR closed door planning session. At least they are consistent?!

msrelly - I think you've stumbled upon a few restless, pesky patients ;) !

When it comes to neuros and the MSS I'm reminded of a term we used to use in hi-tech - NIH "Not Invented Here"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Not_Invented_Here

As a social phenomenon, "Not Invented Here" syndrome is manifested as an unwillingness to adopt an idea or product because it originates from another culture, a form of nationalism

I hope we hear something from either the Hubbards or Dr. Sclafani!

I'd like to say I'm surprised .... but I'm not. Dr. S posted a concern about this meeting and if it would be conducted ..... properly .

Good to see Dr. Hubbard front and center .

Mr. Success is of the opinion that the well spoken - and likable - Dr. Hubbard ..... is his # 1 choice ..... as the CCSVI spokesperson.

But I really think Dr. S .... is just dealing with an illness.

Would you leave your home - feeling under the weather - and go plane, train and automobile ...... sleep in another hotel room .... and then have to endure a long meeting of unreceptive know - it all's ...... questioning your IQ ?

Then plane, train and automobile it back home ........

I know what I'd do ...........

Thanks for trying ... Dr. S .

Lightning and thunderstorms, as pollyanna said. Unfortunate timing.

Any word on how it went for Dr. Hubbard?

Here is something that was posted on CCSVI in Toronto facebook page, extensive notes from a presentation by Dr. Rubin back in January:

Quote:
Dr Barry Rubin was one of the "specialists" in the CIHR group who unanimously voted for Canada not to fund any studies to link MS and ccsvi.
