Sorry, Anonymoose, here's the correct link: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/archive ... 41539.html I keep finding conflicting info on the Internet re high/low sodium/aldo/etc during dehydration when water is not being absorbed.

Cece, my renal veins were never checked during my PTA -- I wonder what DrS will find during his second PTA. Do you think renal insufficiency could overload the adrenal veins like what can happen with the thyroid vein? Do you think it's worth asking DrS -- I'd rather not clutter his thread with a silly hypothesis/idea/question.

Wish I had more time than just to drop this one link here. More next week!

Edit - clarified comment to A.

well I just read through this on adrenal veins http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1166527/ and it didn't fully answer the question. Variant adrenal veins can drain directly into the renal vein or the azygous system, so if any us had such a variant, a renal vein obstruction or an azygous obstruction could cause venous congestion? But typically the adrenal veins drain into the inferior vena cava so they are not part of the cerebrospinal drainage system and would not be involved.
