I suppose. Everything does get more expensive after the switch...the grocery bill today was awful....but it is easier to count than FFrancs, so I prefer that. And the ease of going from one country to the other, except the UK still...and Poland.

I was contacted for an article on CCSVI by the MSRC and referred to the Prof Dake in Stanford rather than Dr Simka. I will contact Judy Graham to see if they could add him as a contact...

Hi Gibbledegook

I have been contacted by a journalist from New Pathways (MSRC) to ask if I mind answering a few questions, as they are profiling people travelling to- Poland for a big piece on CCSVI they are doing for the next issue.
I'll be mentioning Dr Simka for sure, I'm sure they know all about him.

It was from one of your previous posts that I got his contact info'.
Thanks

Wonky

I've just posted an outline of my forthcoming Katowice trip on the Aussie Action thread - so as to keep things together.

I will have an MRV on the 10th of December, operation on the 15th but dr. Ludyga, the owner of the hospital, doesn't answer my mail.

So I don't know how to PAY.

- in zloty's or euro's
- cash?
- by creditcard?
- do I get a bill?

Does anybody know?

Thanks!

Well, I do not know how it works now, but in my case - but I was only the second all this stuff went through Dr. Simka.
I really do not know how they organise it now.
Maybe it is good to ask Dr. Simka - I am really not sure.

I've just confirmed my appointment with Dr. Simka (10am on the 1st December) and he as advised the hospital address was

Euromedic, Katowice ul. Rolna 18

Which is about 2 or 3 km south of Franz Josef Hotel.

Just thought I'd let you know as it was a surprise to me.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks Nees, what tests will he be doing for you? If you are having doppler AND MRV I was just wondering if both tests would be done in this hospital?

It has been mentioned in some of the posts:
There are 2 Euromedic hospitals in Katowice.
I had my procedure at Euromedic 1 minute walking from the Hotel Franz Josef. The first patient had also his procedure there.
The street name is Bartosza Glowackiego 10.

The second Euromedic hospital is at Rolna 18. I had my OCT test there and some people go there to have Doppler.

I understand there are already so many threads and posts here.

They plan do do the procedures also in another town, it is called Tychy - I had my Doppler there. I was in good hotel Arena there not far from the hospital.
Some people have Doppler even in another town.

Questions?
Erika

I'm just having a doppler ultrasound initially, so I guess that's why I'm going to the Rolna Euromedic. Thanks for clarifying Erika.

Depending on results then we'll look at next steps. Fingers crossed for a nice obvious, easily treatable stenosis!
