How can we make Michelle Obama aware of CCSVI and Multiple Sclerosis. What a wonderful spokesperson she would be if she would support this theory !! I don't know how to contact a First Lady.

Michelle Obama’s father was diagnosed with MS in his 30s and lived with the disease for much of her life. President Obama witnessed firsthand, as well, the effects that Multiple Sclerosis can have on a family.

Dear Mr President,
You said it once or twice before; "Yes we can!". What a great issue to piggyback universal health care. A procedure that would save insurance companies millions if they don't have to pay 20 to 30 thousand per patient per year for their meds. I am assuming of course that post surgery we wouldn't need betasaron etc...

Maybe JK Rowling too?? Her mother died of MS (or complications of MS) at the age of 45.. It looks like she may be available:

I just found this interesting list: http://www.mult-sclerosis.org/famous.html

I'm sure they recieve "something" from the drug companies for being a sponsor???? I think Teri Garr works with serono (rebif)..

A famous or well connected MS "relative" would be great.. I think trying to contact the First Lady would be difficult, if not impossible and could just imagine the secret agents confiscating my computer if we did... lol Maybe a hand written letter? I bet the white house receives thousands of letters daily??

topper: man, big pharma has to be craping their pants that ccsvi doesn't pan out.. not to mention the neuros..

the $$$ the ins. companies just in meds. alone could save is astronomical - I couldn't even begin to calculate how much the government would save just with those on medical assistance?

the way bailout $ is being passed out, maybe they could fund some research.. my two cents!

There could be two ways to contact J.K.Rowling:

Her Literary agency:

http://www.christopherlittle.net/

or the Trust for funding ms projects she set up:

http://www.volanttrust.com/

Sadly the trust don't accept applications any more but I'm pretty sure they can make contact to J.K. Rowling to see if she would use her fame for CCSVI. I would do this but since I'm still not very confident about my english, I would prefer if some native speaker would do this.

What I've experienced is that of course there are always gatekeepers, but if you have the chance to make clear that it's not about fandom and your concern is honest and serious, you won't be refused. It's worth a try!

Neil Cavuto - who I think is still on Fox News - has MS. I don't watch much of his show, but I have heard that he speaks about MS quite frequently and is not shy about his frustrations with the disease. It might be worth contacting him.

Montel may be an excellent advocate if he's provided with good info. His book indicates a lot of frustration with the MS Society and conventional approaches to the disease. He sounds like a think "outside the box" type of person.

I think Michelle Obama would give the topic of CCSVI more "gravitas" (weight). Montel is probably a nice guy, but his reputation is as a way out there daytime talk show host.

Richard Cohen wrote the book Blindsided about discovering he had MS (so did his physician father) when he was working for NBC. He is a journalist married to Meredith Vieira, a famous TV personality (co-anchor on NBC's Today show, host of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and former member of THe View.)

I'm thinking that not only would he like to know about CCSVI (if he doesn't already) but both he and Meredith have great contacts with the networks.

Shouldn't Sangay Gupta be researching this?
