Hello all. I have read that Dr. Mark Haacke at McMaster University in Hamilton is accepting copies of patient's MRI's to investigate the CCSVI theory further. Dr. Haacke is a reknown doctor/radiologist.

I have been trying to get his email address as I want to get my daughter's MRI to him. She is having a bilateral carotid ultrasound tomorrow and I would like to forward that to him as well.

Would anyone happen to have come across his name and know what procedures I should follow in order to for her MRI/Doppler to be reviewed by him. All help is appreciated and God bless you all.

Begonia... CCSVI has to to with veins NOT with carotid arteries !! It is the jugular and azygous VEINS that are potentially the problem. Please read the first post of this thread before you take any action :

Carotid are arteries not veins!

Begonia, is your daughter having the ultrasound done by an IR who has done CCSVI ultrasounds before? It can be hard to do without training or experience. You might not have meant carotids, maybe you meant jugulars? The ultrasound should be of the left and right internal jugulars. It's frequently the valves in the jugulars, down at the base of the neck toward the collarbones, that are malformed. The vertebral veins may also be checked for reflux.
