Does anyone know anything about this doc? Or has anyone on thisisms been treated by him?
I'm on the waiting list with Simka for May, but sooner would probably be better.
I have his contact information. Any other information would be awesome.
Thanks

There is a post from me already about Dr. Kostecki, so only short: he is also young and very nice person.
He made my Doppler in August - of course Dr. Simka was there as well. It was in town Tychy - not far from Katowice.
However my procedure was done in Katowice, I was only the second patient in Poland.

He responded to my email requesting diagnostics and procedure - but with no details - just "standby and we will be in touch".

Dear Edser and Anna,

Hello from Canada. I am doing research work on the
incidence rate of MS in your area of the world. Do you know the general
rates of MS for Co. Cork? Any information you could provide
would be most appreciated. Just to give an idea of an area I just
completed mapping in Saskatchewan, the rate was approximately 1 per 100 citizens! Thankyou.

Regards,

Mangio

Good afternoon TiMS,
I'm not a Dr/Neuro so to be honest i don't have a clue of the general rates of MS for Co. Cork.
The Polish couple i was talking about yesterday are home from Tychy. His right Julular vein is completly blocked & the Dr will contact him this Yr sometime. His girlfriend said the waiting area was packed full.
Another Polish gentleman that myself & Anna met true the Polish MS forum (2Yrs) has an appointment 19/01/2010

hi tims,

Not much to add except that I've also had a reply from Dr. Kostecki saying that he'll get back to me soon. He also said that they would try to do testing and procedure, if necessary, in one trip and I'd need to be in Poland for about 1 week.

He replied within 2 days - that was 2 days ago.

Hi all,

I have been an avid reader of this forum for quite a while but did not let myself get too excited about the CCSVI research in case I was setting myself up for more disappointment.

I have been following everyones journey including Edser and decided to take the bull by the horns.

Having had no joy with my GP or my Neuro I decided to contact both Dr Simka and Dr Kostecki to make an appointment. Both have said that they would get back to me.

I am so excited and cannot wait to start making the arrangments for the first available appointment.

In the meantime I look forward to reading more posts regarding the ups and downs of the procedure.

Take care everyone x

I am considering seeing Dr Kostecki. Erika, you mentioned he tested you and "of course Dr Simka was there too", does that mean that Dr Simka has trained Dr Kostecki in a way similar to Dr Simka's scheduled visit to Stanford in February so he can pass hiss knowledge and experience to the doctors there?

Yes, I think Dr. Simka was teaching him how to do it. It was Dr. Kostecki, who had the "thing" with cable in his hand was "driving" it on my neck and head. Dr. Simka was sitting next to him and both were looking at the screen.
So I can really say Dr. Kostecki knows for sure how to do Doppler as it was my body :-)
I will put these information again here:
" I know Dr. Kostecki. He is young as well and very nice. He was doing my Doppler with Dr. Simka in August 2009 in Tychy.
In case somebody goes ther I can advise you Hotel Arena - close to hospital. It is a new, nice 3 stars hotel. Both reception girls spoke good English. Of course you can take taxi to hospital. The hotel does not have stairs - they have rooms on the ground floor as well. When you do your booking ask for it.
http://www.hotelarena.com.pl/index.php?t=&lang=en
When I was there I paid about 42 Euro for single room with breakfast.
If some of you go there, please say hi to Dr. Kostecki from me.
Town Tychy is close to Katowice."

It is better to have it all here. I strongly hope Dr. Simka will pass his knowladge to Stanford as well.
Dr. Ludyga also knows how to do Doppler.
When they do it it looks pretty simple. I even think anybody could learn it including all patients.

Thank you very much for the responses!!! I was so glad to hear nice words about the doctor to whom I like to go for testing and treatment. So, Dr Kostecki does the testing for CCSVI from what I understood but who does the procedure itself? And has the doctor who does the procedure been trained by Dr Simka as well? Also, I am wondering since when Dr Kostecki has been doing the CCSVI testing? And has he had many patients?

I am sorry but I do not know more.
I am not able to answer your questions.
