Poland part 2
After my first procedure in November when I had balloon angioplasty there was a massive improvement in my symptoms.
However for the last month or so I have been reverting to my pre-op state.
Dr Simka thinks it likely that my veins have re-occluded. So on Monday I’m going back to Poland.
This time I will probably have stents.
Hopefully my improvements will return and stay.
I’ll let you all know.

Hi Wonky,

thats a shame, but really great that you have been able to get back so quickly.

It seems that a few people have restenosed with angioplasty and so stents are really the way to go??

I'm so glad to hear that your improvements were marked!!

Hope it all goes to plan.

Claire

Only just heard a couple of days ago that you were on your way back to Poland - that's bad luck, but good that the initial results were so promising and great that Dr Simka was able to fit you in again so quickly.
Best of luck with you procedure this time, and of course keep us all undated on here.

I was wondering why you didn't have stents in the first place, Dr. Simka mentioned in his email to me that chances of re-occluding without stents is more than 50%, and he prefers stenting unless it is dangerous to do so.

Leetz, the price list has been posted MANY times in this forum: the cost for the assessment and procedure altogether will total between 6,000 and 7,000 US, depending upon the exchange rate on the day of the transaction. However, that is with Dr. Simka, who is booked into 2011. I don't know what the prices will be at other clinics in Poland and Bulgaria that may (or may not) be able to genuinely offer comparable services.

Also, I hope you don't mind if I make a suggestion: try not to sound so desperate, because there are indications that there are scammers lurking on this site, waiting to prey on people looking for CCSVI assessments and treatments.

...Ted

Hi Wonky1

I am really sorry that you have to go back but it is reassuring that Dr Simka has obviously built into his timetable some leeway to manage follow-up procedures which may be required in some cases. Best of luck with your trip. Many people on this site will be as interested in this follow-up as with your initial trip.
