so, some of you may not know that i work outside most of the time.

just wanted to say that this last week has been such amazing fun. somehow this spring everything is coming up in crazy profusion... and besides the usual field trips, this last weekend was excellent. saturday i hiked 30-odd folks through the canyon and when i did the warm up canyon hike the previous week, i was kind of out of it after the climb up the creek bed and i sort of tripped on the trail across the top after. this week, no problem!

and yesterday i took a group of adults around a local trail, all folks who want to learn about native plants, what's edible, how else to use them, etc, and we made cedar tea with maple syrup in a ruined homestead, searched out some fiddleheads, and wound up with quite the climb out of the ravine, which i only realized now, did not make me feel ms-y at all when we finally got out to the road!

i know i'm only 4 years into this... but compared to what i used to be like at first, times like this just make me feel so optimistic :D
