Hey, if you feel like you earned it, go ahead and get pissed! That's not petty at all. What's petty is when someone gives someone else a reward for being the one that would be the MOST upset if they didn't get it. i.e., the ones who would have got REALLY pissed if they didn't get it. Screw 'em!

i do feel like i went beyond the expectations for that job, had to learn fast, really tried to maximize what i could do with my responsibilities, broke a record, put some innovations in place, went the extra mile for customers, dealt with harsh scenarios without even radioing my boss for help, and i helped with a lot of stuff outside my department, and i kept track of ideas for improvements so i could give good feedback at the end of the season. which i just don't feel like passing on any more! and i sacrificed a lot of school time to make this job work, missed lots of lectures as well as project time, which could have affected my marks/scholarship potential and my dean's honour list status, and they don't even think that's any kind of big deal apparently, so yea i don't know if i'll go back again and i've been with them for 4 years.

There's usually some people politics going on behind the scenes with things like this. Personal favourites and all that. You sound like the sort of woman who has given 110% and after four years they probably realise that and dont think the reward necessary as you'll do it in any event. I don't think you should make any rash decisions about next season now - but personally I would take a long hard think about whether it's worth skipping lectures or project time for. I hate to suggest this but keep your brilliant ideas to yourself. They've been undervalued and unappreciated so far. You do get paid for the work and you must enjoy it but how long will that last once a seed of resentment starts to grow. Put yourself first Jimmy. It doesn't sound like your hurting anyone else by doing that here. All the best.

i think you're right muu. all it took for one person was a nice email from one of their students. i've had a nice email sent in about me more than once and that was never worth an award so whatever! i already have somewhere else to go for next season, but i have to figure out if i want to let the last place know why i'm pissed. about not getting a stupid piece of paper. i mean jeez. why do i even care?? but i do.
