I am so grateful for all of my awesome friends. They got together and organized me a golf outing because I was telling one of my friends how I was going to pay for this with an old 401k if that's what it took. Now I've been to plenty of those fundraiser outings and they usually net about 2 grand or so. My crazy friends worked their butts off and even in this economy they managed to get donations for 50 cases of beer, all the food, hold a raffle, have hole sponsors, set up a bank account for those who just wanted to give, AND round up 29 foursomes at $75 a head and gave me one of those big checks for $11,000 to help pay for travel and the procedure(s)!!! I felt like Happy Gilmore with the big check  . And then everyone who won something like longest drive and outright won the tournament all went up to claim their prize and just walked over to me and my family and just gave them all to me. That was another $1,200. I was humbled and overwhelmed.

When I had to speak, I could barely do it I was so overwhelmed. I kind of knew what I was going to say and everything; it just left me once I got so emotional. They tell me I did fine, but I just don't remember any of it! I'm tearing up now writing this the next day. I'm going to put all the pictures and that on my Facebook page since you can just upload them without going to a photo hosting site. Looking at all the carts right before they took off for the shotgun start (we had the ENTIRE course) was amazing. Like I said, I've been to many, many golf outings and this was the biggest group I've ever seen at this course. A Procor & Gamble outing I went to one time was bigger, but that was a major production at a prominent Cincinnati Country Club. This was just my boys getting together to help me out. It made me feel so good and gracious it's not even funny. I have some true friends that's for sure. I'll put up a link to my FB page after I load the pics tonite if you want to see the pictures, it was awesome and I'm humbled to say the least.
