Hey all
I decided to try and tackle MS early.. im going to begin the MS Recovery Diet. Book is already ordered - it should arrive tomorrow. To be sure it was the diet i wanted, and could follow, i actually read a lot of it on google.books... heres the link if anyone wants to have a read

<shortened url>

Quite interesting I must say. Does anyone have any hints or tips for this diet. I am a sugar junkie (most of the time).. so it will be hard to deal with sugar withdrawals as i have in the past.

Im also on copaxone, 3 weeks into it.. and manually injecting

Forever grateful,
LadyD

My wife has been on this diet for about 2 years. Some of her minor symptoms such as severe leg cramps have subsided since starting it, and her mri's have been stable.
It's really not that hard once you get into it, the biggest sacrifice is giving up cheese and good crusty breads. We now eat a lot of seafood, veggies, sweet potatoes, and rice pasta (there are some rice pastas that could pass for regular). As for sweets, she will usually have fruit or sesame bars for dessert. Lara bars and nuts are a good snack when traveling. Eating out can be a challenge, but Mexican and Asian usually work. Just ask for guacomole instead of beans and hold the cheese when eating Mexican, and try to avoid soy sauce and tofu when eating Asian.

Talk about Deja vu as i just read portions of this book over the weekend on ''Google Books'' and it definitely sounds Paleo which is the diet i decided to start. As for sugar cravings even for me fruit will trigger them as i'm so addicted to sugar or sweet tasting foods and so i'll probably go just salmon and brocolli, onions salads with lots of Olive Oil (low carb) and although i dread having to eat that way for the first few days i think once the cravings subside i'll be o.k.
