Since this is the Drug Pipeline thread, an excellent article about MS drug research interviews Scott Johnson who founded the Myelin Repair Foundation http://www.myelinrepair.org. The article lays out the challenges of medical research and finding specific treatments that repair the brain as opposed to just treating symptoms. The articles is:

Everytime I explore things other than medicine this guy always pops up telling me about the hazards of natural cures. Yes the FDA(Fraud and Deception Agency) is there to protect me even when I do not want their protection. I am suppose to be living in a country of freedom of choice yet they will not let me make the basic decisions concerning my health. They label these healers as quacks and do not let them practice in our country. They can't allow these quacks curing people because that would not be good for the drug companies. Here is a video that explains our medical system. Do you really think we need protection from these quacks? i am reminded of a quote in the movie "Cool Hand Luke" , "Please don't be so good to me Boss". Maybe it would be better if we could all choose what form of treatment we want. When Dr. Lorraine Day got sick she knew better than to trust medicine. Isn't it strange about all these doctors who have cured themselve and not with medicine. Maybe they know better.
