I was prescribed Detrol la for bladder issues. Any one have any comments on this drug? Usefulness, side effects? Thanks.

Hi. I was prescribed this a few years ago and all it did for me was make me constipated! Good luck.

My wife was on it for about 3 months but didn't really get much from it. It gave her pretty bad dry-mouth so she ended up drinking more which didn't help....she's taking desmopressen (sp?) now and it really seems to help with her sleep (she's not waking up 5-6 times a night feeling like she needs to urinate)

I tried Detrol LA for a few months, did nothing so I stopped.

I then tried EnableX which worked great on the bladder but the constiptation was too much so I stopped that too.

Thanks for the replies. I decided not to fill the prescription just yet. I'm a 53 yo male, so I think it would be wise for me to get my prostate checked out first. I took the blood test a couple days ago, and my Doctor will do the old rubber glove exam next time I go in to see him. (I told my wife the Doc should buy me flowers first) I probably won't get in to see him til the new year, so I think I'll just put up with getting up 4 to 8 times a night for another little while.
