there was a good 10 minute piece on News Hour that focused on new collaborative efforts in disease research. Much of it focused on Scott Johnson at the Myelin Repair Foundation:

I've long wondered about the things they mention in this article. Like how come there is so much money going into research so that the scientists can "publish" but so little going into cooperation so they can actually find cures or treatments? Scott Johnson's approach makes way more sense.
