Hi again to those who know of me, I am back.
Ok I am very confused as my mri over a year ago showed hypersensaties or something like that in the grey and white matter.
Now my new mri results are two tiny lesions but my Neuro not diagnosing MS. I thought once lesions appeared and with the symptoms being so MS like, it would be diagnosed. Please help me as I don't know what to do next and all because I didn't turn up to one appointment she has taken me off her patient list.
:?

Hi Jules--The first neurologist I saw, back in '97, said lesions don't always mean MS--I had only had one potential symptom at the time, so he said it was possible, but that he seriously doubted that I had MS. Later found out that I did. But clinical symptoms are a factor in the diagnosis as well.

Definitely get a second opinion--look online for neurologists in your area, or even call your old doctor's office and see if someone there will give you a referral.

There are so many knowledgeable people on this forum, who will have better advice than me! Good luck to you, and don't give up until you find out what you need to know! Hopefully all will be well.
:)

:) Hi and thank you for that reply. My symptoms have been increasing for over three years and just two days before I got the result from the second MRI, I was unable to lift my body from the couch, my husband had to pysically help lift me and then take my body weight while a raggy doll got helped to the toilet. I was not able to control my legs or feet. When this happened I also had the very stinging needle poking sensation in my right foot which continued for three day.
I have been on this site before sometime ago and listed all my symptoms. There a few on here that will recognise my name. I do thank you for helping me and one day surely I will find out what it is. I can't believe how long it can take people to get a diagnosis. I was a bit concerned when there was change in the white and grey matter of the brain with hypersentities but now there are a couple of tiny lesions there makes me more worried. My symptoms have been increasing with heat as I live in Australia and in a very warm climate.
Thanks again and hoping to hear from some others for their input.
Take care.

just sending a virtual back-pat and hugs to encourage you to keep on keepin' on. you don't get a choice. they make it quite difficult. so, i wish you strength and patience, and humor so you can laugh at it when it all gets too absurd. :)

Hi Jules

I was advised that legions also show if you have migraines. Those I have had for years so was not surprised to see some.

I am not impressed with your Dr, that really isn't a reason to take you off her patient list, so I would find yourself a specialist that wants to help and cares about you as a patient. You at the very least deserve that much.

I have seen one awful specialist and thank god I persevered and found another, this one I cannot fault.

Keep smiling and stay positive, things will work out. Sending hugs your way...
