Hi everyone out there, I'm new here.
I look after a horse periodically and I also do shows as a ventriloquist (concentration). I use a ride on mower and driving a car.
At the moment I am considering taking Interferon, can anyone tell me if taking this drug affects any of the above activities.
And can anyone tell me of it's positive sides and negative sides from personal experience.
I would really appreciate any sort of feedback please
xxx

Hi crazylady, and welcome! I've never taken any of the MS meds myself, but I thought I'd make sure you've noticed that there are subforums here with postings and discussions for all the MS meds, including separate ones for each of the interferons: Avonex, Betaseron, and Rebif. Here's a link to the main forum index:
http://www.thisisms.com/forum/

After years of reading about med experiences on MS forums, the only thing I know is that, although there are certain side effects VERY common to interferons, the results of treatment are unique to the individual. Some patients are absolutely unable to tolerate interferons, while others barely notice the effects at all.

I'm sure others with actual experience will stop in to answer specific questions. Good luck to you!

ive taken avonex for 6 months, sick in bed almost the whole next day, 4 relapse in a year
ive taken betaseron for a year and a half, once a month i would get a ever so slight headache but i had to take it with gabapentin or else sleepless knee pain and strong headaches, no relapses at all

but everyone handles it differently. my friends on avonex, no side effects at all, idk about relapses though
