Whole body vibration has been discussed at:

I think it might be beneficial under this scenario – the PowerPlate reduces visceral fat; visceral fat inhibits normal pancreas/insulin function; when affected by visceral fat, the pancreas will produce excess insulin = damage that leads to MS.
