as a kid i got cold blisters all the time. as i got older less frequent. since i started eating 2 or 3 cloves of garlic yrs. ago i haven't gotten any. getting 9 or 10 cloves a day will be rough but i may try. got 4 days in.

i will always feel the fall i had and my spinal issues are the reason i have these symptoms they named ms. none the less i want to be healthy as i can in my small little world. and i feel raw garlic is a big part that i rarely get sick. just have to bump it up. who knows what little evil raskly viruses or bacteria is lurking in the shadows of our inners.

any dr.'s or researchers got the 100 per cent answer we all want to hear? nope! and if they come up with something more solid than they have will it fit everybody? probably not. so, we read we search -- and even eat lots of garlic and wait and see and hope. what's the harm?

garlic's only a 'good' source of selenium - if you add some 'excellent' sources you may find even more efficacy. you'll be fishy instead of garlicky :) if i find whatever i dug up recently on nutrition and oral herpes i'll repost here

it's LC. (lyndacarol) curious if she never had cold sores, did she never have chicken pox either. whereas you and i have both had chicken pox and cold sores. on wikipedia under viral latency, it says there's some kind of virus that is chicken pox in stage one and then turns into herpes simplex 1. crazayyyy. will have to follow up on that one.

jimmylegs, please do follow up. you are good at this stuff.

i'm gonna go a crazy step further. try to follow me and be patient with me. ok, i had cold blisters and chicken pox. a lot of people have but not told they have ms. you know i maintain my spinal issues "which causes slow or hindered blood flow also with the csf flow." now when things aren't flowing right i would think even the immune system would be compromised. also these viruses could take hold better such as in the nervous system. ok, i'm doing ok through life and then along with the already screwed up spinal issues and then the final blow of the fall i took in 1990 added to that plus the very bad stress of it all "which stress can activate lot of bad stuff". so along with the slow flow of everything these viruses can have a hayday now.

now, getting to these dirty sneaky viruses.---way out there---i don't know if you watched an oprah show a long time ago it had people on that had incureable diseases but got well. a woman had ms, was in pretty bad shape, was getting in the bath tub i think but anyway lightning struck her. she was in the hospital but her symptoms eventually all went away. they did not know why. i'm wondering if there was enough voltage to fry the viruses but luckly not enough to kill her.----have you ever read anything on hilda clark? amongst her natural cures was the "hilda clark zapper". google it if interested. testimonials that it cures a lot of stuff some say even ms. i've not tried it but might. there are supposed to be even better ones now i think.

crazy yeah, does it make sence, pretty much--who knows--it's not over till it's over.

Yes, just like Azaeleaprawn, have had cold sores - not anymore tho, chicken pox and shingles. Did anyone's parents have cold sores too? My Mom still does but doesn't have ms. Siblings don't have either of these things.

Yes Blossom, saw and read about the women you mentioned.

Yes to both. I worry about my kids. One has had shingles and chicken pox - very minor case because I have had both my kids vaccinated for cp. Now wonder if they need some sort of booster now 18 and 16. Anyone know? The doctor is not sure.

Yes my mom got cold sores and shingles as well and I wonder about MS as she had some rather curious symptoms that appeared late in life but these were really overlooked as she was battling breast cancer then and that was really front & centre.

Just found your question, jimmylegs. I did have chickenpox as a child long ago, but have never had a cold sore in my entire life.
