MS & Parent of a toddler

Post by tmguy186 »

This MS is getting trying. I have a 4 yr old daughter and I cant get anywhere with her I feel horrible and now we may have to move because i can no longer afford rent  We now have a playground in the yard so i can see her in the swings. The state of MA has a long waitlist for sec 8 and my handicap is not considered a priority. I have made efforts to raise money www.giveforward.com/taraguy but i cant get enough money raised. I am lost and i do not know what to do. I am in a wheelchair now so I cant go out much unless i plan ahead (which i am sure everyone knows how that goes). My question is has anyone had this problem and if so how have you handled it? I am now scared :((

First, you need to be taking care of yourself. You really need to be on a good MS diet and taking the recommended supplements. By getting your body in the best of shape, you will be in the best position to take care of your child.

Can you find a daycare place for your daughter? That would give you some recovery time and allow her to get some play time in. Other than that, I don't know.

Welcome to our community. I agree that you must take care of yourself – diet is a good place to start. Call your local MS Society office, explain your situation, they may have suggestions for handling your situation. If you have a church affiliation, call your minister; if you have no church connection, call a few churches for possible help anyway. There may be some social services offices in your area. Call on friends and family – you need moral support as much as physical support. There are many caring people at this website; we will offer our suggestions too.
