MRI

Okay, so I have an MRI of head neck and orbit scheduled for July 25th and a neuro appt at the MS care clinic on the 31st. I just got the certification letter from the insurance that they approved the MRI but without the dye. Isn't the dye kind of important? They deny the dye every time and then if they see something and opt to do it I am stuck with the 1000.00 bill. They are doing the orbit because of the optic neuritis or to confirm the optic neuritis I am not sure. I am really nervous about all of this. I mean what if I am just nuts and what I feel is happening isn't? Can I make these symptoms happen. When weird neurological symptoms happened in the past I had a neuro that pretty much told me that I was crazy and I don't need to come back. No tests or anything and that was 8 years ago and it still haunts me. Let me give you a for an example scenario: I was at the pool with my son and I felt a sting/bite/zap across the right side of my face. At first I thought that a bug bit me but then it happened in my arm. That evening I went to bed and was awakened by itching. No rash bumps dry skin or anything. It was just an insane itch that couldn't be relieved. I scratched it and scratched until it bruised and then scratched some more. It was on my upper arms my legs and my face. I have had this before and it comes on and goes away very quickly but this time it didn't. I ended up with no sleep and a 12 hour shift ahead of me. So, I scratched and scratched and was sure people thought I had the scabies or fleas or something. Then suddenly it was gone leaving behind multiple dark bruises. Did I cause this? Can I cause this? Can I cause the inability to sweat and overheating? Can I be the cause of the extreme midday exhaustion that leaves me dumbfounded and unable to speak coherently between sentences or completely forget what I am saying? I don't want to be called crazy again. I don't want to go into hiding again thinking that I really am a nutcase. To be honest I am scared.

Thanks for listening.

The dye (gadolinium) shows if a lesion is active or not. Doe the insurance company say why this part of theMRI is being denied? Can this be appealed before the 25th? It seems crazy to me for this to be denied!
