pain
Re: pain
My pain is a burning sensation through my arms, upper back, and through my legs. I also have the hug that constricts anywhere from my heart to around my hips. I also have tingling sensations in my hands, fingers and toes.
It's a great question to ask!

Re: pain
Hi,
There's always little aches and pains for me but I have just realized that the worst pain for me has a strong correlation to an elevated diastolic reading for blood pressure. The numbers push me into the mild to moderate hypertension bracket. It's quite unpleasant and I am intending to see a cardiologist about it. I didn't make the connection until quite recently. When the blood pressure returns to normal then the pain subsides. Tight muscles - I have them all the time and don't associate them with proper pain. The hypertense state is very painful as a rule for me.
Regards

Re: pain
Of course I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain Scott1 and scdiva81! I really appreciate your answers though. I haven't been diagnosed yet and it has been a confusing journey. I am having all kinds of weird random pains in my legs and sometimes, but not often in my hands. I am just trying to figure out if some of the pains I am experience are similar to that of what others might be experiencing also.
Re: pain
hi dania sorry to hear you have been suffering.
re the pain in your legs, how would you describe them? bone pain? joint? muscle? skin? combination? other?

Re: pain
I had changed my diet a little and was taking vitamins and had added vitamin b and fish oil with omega 3. Then i got the stomach flu and have fallen off track.. Trying to get back into a healthier pattern again.
Nothing new with bloodwork since they ruled out viruses and lyme disease.
Waiting to see neuro opthamalogist at the end of april.. But meanwhile still get weird symptoms and painful symptoms...

Re: pain
can you refresh my memory re vit d3 or magnesium?
also, re stomach flu - food poisoning? or actual virus?
fyi vits A C & E and minerals selenium and zinc ('ACESZ' for short) can help you fight viruses. magnesium plays a role as well

Re: pain
The magnesium/calcium/zinc/d3 can be taken up to 3xs daily and has 133mg of magnesium, 333mg calcium, 200iu of d3, and 5mg of zinc
The past few weeks I have started eating at least one or two of those cutie tangerines a day for vitamin c and drink orange juice...
I had the actual stomach virus that has been going around.. Knocked me out of work for a solid week and couldnt eat normal for 2 weeks.. Ugh... I work with kids though and just manage to always catch everything!
My husband has been pushing me to drink more powerades too to get some extra vitamins and actually hydrate (i just am stubborn as heck about drinking water)

Re: pain
ok the ratios look off in that multi-mineral with d3. i could see that causing problems if your various levels were not ideal in the first place.
*max* calcium to magnesium ratio should be 2:1 (not 2.5:1 as in your supplement product). for every 1 of the d3/mineral combo pills you take, it would be a very smart idea to add at least 100mg and as much as 200mg of magnesium glycinate. also, don't take the mag glycinate at the same time as the combo. you need the benefit of the mag for multiple processes, and your body needs a chance at it without interference from vit d3.
may i ask what form of mag comes in the d3/mineral combo? if it's less soluble, the more you take, the more likely it will be for you to experience loose stools.
for this reason, if you are taking the full 3 combo pills per day, the form of added magnesium supplement is important - you don't want to choose a low quality product that won't be absorbed and will give you still looser stools. magnesium glycinate would be your best option for adding an extra mag supplement to the current d3/mineral blend. it's very soluble, easily absorbed, and doesn't have unpleasant GI side effects.
15mg total zinc per day is fine, but you do want to make sure your copper and iron status are also sufficient, since taking zinc can depress iron levels and vice versa. i often take 50mg zinc in a day, and it comes balanced w 2mg copper). the competition dynamic between iron and zinc is not observed when they are consumed in food, so it's best to ensure your diet includes iron- and zinc- rich foods on a regular basis.
more about the immune system:
for virus fighting, emphasize foods rich in vits A (liver, tuna, yam), C (broccoli, strawberries, and red pepper have more than oranges), E (spinach, almonds, sunflower seeds, avocado), and antibacterial/antiviral minerals selenium (brazil nuts, oysters, tuna) and zinc (oysters, venison, beef/lamb).
although everything is better when delivered in its whole food context, the ACESZ are sold in a combo as well http://www.carlsonlabs.com/p-32-aces-zn.aspx
for hydrating AND adding magnesium, consider this stuff: http://naturalvitality.com/natural-calm/
the raspberry lemon flavour is really popular. it's magnesium citrate, so not *quite* as awesome as magnesium glycinate in terms of absorption, but still good stuff. it would be WAY better for you than powerade (which has no magnesium at all). you can also add to your daily potassium intake via coconut water (another much healthier option compared to powerade).
hope that helps if adding mag is going to make a difference, once you're doing things properly you should feel it in a day or two.

fyi, where the supplement products are concerned, it will probably be more efficient to call around to see who has what, as opposed to looking around wherever you happen to go shopping. ime, you're not really too likely to find mag glycinate, natural calm or carlson's ACES+zn in any old vitamin section.
also, here's a good mag glycinate product: http://kirkmanlabs.com/ProductKirkman/1 ... llergenic/

Re: pain
Hello Dana,
Every evening, before sleeping, I used to feel a strong pain behind my right eye.
According to my neurologist, it's quite usual for msers.
I take a few drops (3 to 4) drops of rivotril before getting to bed, and the pain goes away.
However, this medecine is well known to be very addictive.
So, if you jump into it, be careful!
