Ok, since this is no longer about the combo treatments, I would like to post something.
Bromely...what's with the gay comments? It was disappointing to read. Specially because I have so much respect for you. I also want to explain why I like the pic idea unlike Bromely. When I was diagnosed, I was told not to tell my boss or my coworkers. I was told to choose which friends I wanted to tell because "not everyone would understand." This was told to me by my neuro and psychiatrist. I already felt ashamed of my body's betrayal and this kind of talk did not help. I have never put any pics of me anywhere on the net. This is the first time and I did it because I have gotten over my feelings of shame. I have told my boss and cowerkers and they have all been understanding. I feel that there is a stereotype about MS out there and I want to show people that people with MS are, for the most part, well functioning people who still contribute greatly to this world. I also think that this disease is more than just about the latest research. THere are big time emotions involved. Emotions that at times, only others who have the disease can understand. We need each other on this site and I think it would be nice to get to know each other. Pics are just a part of that. Introductions are a part of that and so are non judgemental postings. Like I said...we need a chat room so that everything would have its place.
Thanx for reading,
NN

Hi Bob,

Quote:
I stopped at a party store in London and a young guy was trying to bum what sounded like a "Tella Mead" from me. Is Tella Mead a Canadian cigarette or something?

Haven't got a clue what a "Tella Mead" might be. Are you sure he wasn't a bit high and asking to bum some kind of "weed" to smoke? :D

Hi Bob,

[quote  In a totally unrelated matter.....is there any chance that Ian might be the thisisms member I was thinking of who hails from London, Ont?[/quote]

Ian may live in London but it's the London on the other side of the Pond :D

Did you ever think that maybe Ian is not responding because he finds this childish? I will not be reading the "combo treatment" anymore so please don't wonder why I am not responding if you choose to attack me as well. Have a good time with HarryZ. All this negativity is awesome for all of us. You know Lyon, there actually are scientists out there who are trying to solve this mystery illness. Since you are not even sure what you want to call it, I would say you have a lot of research to do yourself before you start attacking others. Oops…did I just join the name calling game? I will stop now…I promise

I didn't realize that you are speaking on behalf of Ian these days! BTW, if you read many of Ian's past messages, you will see that he shares many of the same ideas that Bob and I have been speaking about.

It also amazes me how some people equate comments about drug companies or anything else that casts doubt on the current state of MS research as being "negative". It's called realism and if you think that the current situation of MS medicine is "peaches and cream" then perhaps you are living in a dream world. MS research and progress over the past 40 years, as Dr. Behan states, has been abysmal!! That's not negative, that's pretty much a hard fact.

Like Bob stated, this site is for everyone to express their opinions. Not everybody is going to agree with one another and many will state their position....firmly at times. If you don't agree with someone's opinion, please go ahead and challenge them. But please don't accuse someone for "attacking" you because they don't agree with what you have said.

OMG! We're not allowed to find humor wherever possible in dealing with this illness? I'm with Harry, and I'd stand behind anything Brom writes. But my position on internet boards is a bit stronger, it's open, it's America and it's policed. There isn't a single comic that doesn't make a living poking fun at someone. That's life. We all need something to chuckle about here ...... not that there's anything wrong with it. napay
