One of the MS websites I visit lists the top 20 news articles on that day which refer to MS. The usual story is about a new treatment. Today, half of the news articles had included the name Bin Laden in the title. Could terrorism and MS be linked?

The story is a 51 year old, five time married, British grandmother with MS who has married the 27 year old son of Bin Laden.

Must give hope to some of the ladies who use this site - you can have MS, an interesting love life, and end up with a man half your age (albeit the son of the world's most infamous terrorist).

Sounds like the old gal may have some cognitive problems.

Maybe this is a new way for terrorists to enter countries. There have always been people who get married so they can get into a country quicker than following the usual path of visas and green cards.

It sounds like a diabolical plot to use her to extract the "MS factor" and turn it into a biological weapon. That would suck, a biological weapon that makes you feel extra crappy, lose motor control and potentially become depressed. 8O

I'm trying to figure out whether it's a favorable or unfavorable situation when it takes terrorists to finally unlock the centuries old mysteries of MS?

I'm going to write Miss Manners to see if it's necessary to send a "thank-you" card to terrorists or if a simple "high five" will suffice.

The most interesting thing about this article is that she travelled to Egypt for treatment of her MS? What kind of treatment and how effective?

This has already been done. A while back I was watching a PBS show which discussed the problem of weapons left over from the cold war. One segment of the show stated that the Soviets had put a gene for a myelin protein into an infectious bacterium. They would then expose experimental animals to the bacteria. The animal's immune system would then mistakenly recognize myelin as foreign protein and would start attacking the animal's own myelin.

That's what I was thinking.

As we speak, the Security Services' e-mail scanning devices will probably be alerting government agencies to the content of this thread – at last, a way to get them to take notice of this disease!

By the way, if they split up do you think she'd become his ex...
Or perhaps his Semt-ex?

Hi Dom,
I know it's probably really obvious but keep in mind that I was blonde before I went gray.....I think it's humor, but I don't get it. What is Sept-ex or Semptex??

Hi Bob,
" Semtex" is a popular brand of explosive used by all the best terrorists. I thought it was an international brand but perhaps I was mistaken. By now, those governments spies will definitely be listening so I have a message for them: " divert some of your massive funding into curing MS!"

Ah Well, I'll just have to put it down as a bad joke wasted,

That is it, I am now officially blaming the Russians for my MS.

Geesh - Bin Laden, Russians and Symtex, this thread is for sure getting some NSA attention.
