SNOWPATROL
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

My wife and i danced to this song at a party, she sat on my lap and we rolled around the dance floor. It means a lot to us . music seems to mean more to me now than ever.
hope this is not a rerun jimmy

Re: Mika: Any other world.

I don't have a diagnosis yet but when I hear this song it rattles me because it is so true the fact that it seems a lot of the time I fake a smile, I pretend it is ok when really it's not.

It brings a tear to my eyes, after reading these lyrics I hurt for you guys so much more than myself. I feel your pain and helplessness and hurt but at the same time draw on your strength.

I hope you don't mind me adding this to your post due to the fact I don't at this stage know whether I am an MS patient.

I have a couple of those songs on CD and plan to listen to them.

The U2 song mentioned is one that rings close to my ears too.

There is a Celine Dion song too guys I will add it once I remember what is called but it is along the same lines and ones listed.

I love U2 and yeh I love Enya, some people think that's funny but hey whatever! :D

Hugs

Hi guys

Postby 71jules » Thu Feb 12, 2009 10:35 pm

Ok, found it, forgive me please if I shouldn't have commented due to me not being diagnosed yet.

Celine Dion called My Love

My love we have seen it all, the endless confession, the rise and fall.
As fragile as a child, but lately I'm sorry I can't hold a smile.
But I stand tall to get by, no matter how hard I try to hide. How did you know I'd take the time for you? Did you know that I could see you through? How did you know that I would play the part? I must have made it clear right from the start.
My love can you give me strength? Somehow I forgot how to ease my pain. I know I'm right where I belong but somethin for nothin never proved me wrong, but I stand tall to get by, no matter how hard I try to hide.
How did you know I'd take the time for you? Did you know that I could see you through? How did you know that I would play the part? I must have made it clear right from the start. I would share my whole life with you, would you do the same for me? I would give all I am to you, would you do the same for me? And I will stand tall to get by, no matter how hard I try to hide. You could, you see? I could break, did you notice all my mistakes? There were times I could feel you read my mind. How did you know I'd take the time for you? And did you know that I could see you through?
Did you know that I would play that part? I know I made it clear right from the start.

Interested to see if this means anything to anyone or what you thought of the words.

Hugs

Hi Jules
Don't worry about posting. YOu are trying to figure it out and I hope that you don't end uo having MS. I am not really sure what your symptoms are. It might ease your mind to have a Dx but I hope that things will be ok for you. I liked you song. It made me cry when I read "somehow I forgot how to ease my pain." I used to be really good at dealing with problems and my emtions. Since I was Dx, I felt so lost and the pain of it all was so much more than any comfort I could ever try to give myself. I have to thank my husband and my dog for seeing me through it all.
Just so you know, it did not turn out to be as bad as I thought.

Oh, thank you!

So sorry part of it made you cry, honestly.
I don't have MS but am under the strong suspicion that I do my symptoms appear under listings of Please help me I am so scared and fear of needles and itching.

I know that song really is a heart jerker in regards to what I feel like at this time in my life.

I too thank my husband, children, cats and dog for their love they are giving to me. I never have a time alone due to a cat or dog always by side when my hubbie is at work and children are at school.

Nice to hear from you and thank you.

Hugs

he he he..hi legs
I check in once in a while to look for the heading "there is a cure for MS" posted by Bromley ofcourse. I am good. The baby is good too. He just needs to sleep a little longer at nights cause I am so sleepy. I sleep on and off until 1400 with him which means that I don't get much done. Hope thigs are going well with you and that you have a great V day.

7jules,
No worries. I am happy that I can cry. it's a good thing. It feels so good sometimes to just let it all out. My symptoms come and go really. I take lots of vit d and mutil vits and calcium. I hated needles too. If you are dx ask the nurse teaching you to injedt yourself to teach your husband as well so that he can give it to you too. I had a hard time giving myslef a needle and I am a nurse. My husband does it for me. Also if you are going to have the ones that require IM injections, make sure to ask the nurse if you could use a shorter neelde. The kits kind of come with a one size fits all needle and you don't always need that big of a needle if you are injecting someone small. it just makes it less sacry and you don't have to worry that you are going to hit your bone. You won't feel it but it's just a scary thought. It doesn't reallly hurt on the skin much either but if you are scared of that you could always get over the counter numbing creams before you inject or ice it perhaps. Hope this helps ease you mind a little. Sorry if someone has already told you all this but I have not had a chance to read your posts.

Well, for our friends North of the border, I went through my CDs to see if any of The Tragically Hip songs were appropriate for this thread. Unfortunately, their lyrics are just too out there - I'm not sure what they're about.

Those in Canada - are they still making new music?

yep they have something coming out :) i heard a snippet of some news about it the other day

how bout this snippet:
promise me, promise me,
they bury me someplace I don't want to be,
you'll dig me up and transport me, unceremoniously,
away from the swollen city-breeze, garbage-bag trees,
whispers of disease and the acts of enormity
and lower me slowly, sadly and properly
Get Ry Cooder to sing my eulogy,
At the hundredth meridian where the great plains begin

I understand the hundreth meridian part, but who the heck is Ry Cooder?

This was the closest relevant song I could think of:

Courage, my word, it didn't come, it doesn't matter
Courage, it couldn't come at a worse time

So there's no simple explanation
for anything important any of us do
and yea the human tragedy
consists in the necessity
of living with the consequences
under pressure, under pressure.
Courage, my word, it didn't come, it doesn't matter,
Courage, it couldn't come at a worse time.

I used to go see them whenever they came to town - they weren't as big here in the U.S., so the venues were fairly small. Gord was usually good for interesting quotes between songs.

Killers
Read My Mind

On the corner of main street
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm falling behind

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The good old days, the honest man;
The restless heart, the Promised Land
A subtle kiss that no one sees;
A broken wrist and a big trapeze

Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go, can you read my mind?

It's funny how you just break down
Waitin' on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
With magic soakin' my spine

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The teenage queen, the loaded gun;
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One
A southern drawl, a world unseen;
A city wall and a trampoline

Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you jump;
Tell me what you find
When you read my mind

Slippin [...]
He never returned that call
Woman, open the door, don't let it stay
I wanna breathe that fire again

She said I don't mind, if you don't mind
Coz I don't shine if you don't shine

Put your back on me
Put your back on me
Put your back on me

The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun
When you read my mind

Great song

Death
by White Lies

i love the feeling when we lift up
watching the world so small below
i love the dreaming when i think of
the safety in the clouds out my window
i wonder what keeps us so high up
could there be a love beneath these wings
if we suddenly fall should i scream out
or keep very quite and cling to my mouth as i'm crying
so frightened of dying
relax yes i'm trying
this fears got a hold on me

yes, this fears got a hold on me

i love the quite of the night time
when the sun in the deathly sea
i can feel my heart beating as i speed from
then sense of time catching up with me
the sky set out like a pathway
[ White Lies Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
but who decides which path we take
as people drift into a dream world
i close my eyes as my hands shake and when i see a new day
who's driving this anyway
i picture my own grave
cause fears got a hold on me

yes this fears got a hold on me

Floating neither up or down i wonder when i'll hit the ground
well the earth beneath my body shake
and cast your sleeping hearts awake
could it tremble stars from moon light skies
could it drag a tear from your cold eyes
i live on the right side i sleep in the left
that's why everything's got to be love or death

yes this fears got a hold on me
Had ms for over 19 years now.

This song is pretty much sums up how i feel about this frakin' disease.
Some days its like 'i wish i could be like i used to be...' and others its like 'hell yah.. let's beat this thing!'

Sound the Bugle - Bryan Adams

Sound the bugle now - play it just for me
As the seasons change - remember how I used to be
Now I can't go on - I can't even start
I've got nothing left - just an empty heart

I'm a soldier - wounded so I must give up the fight
There's nothing more for me - lead me away...
Or leave me lying here

Sound the bugle now - tell them I don't care
There's not a road I know - that leads to anywhere
Without a light feel that I will - stumble in the dark
Lay right down - decide not to go on

Then from on high - somewhere in the distance
There's a voice that calls - remember who your are
If you lose yourself - your courage soon will follow

So be strong tonight - remember who you are
Ya you're a soldier now - fighting in abattle
To be free once more -Ya that's worth fighting for

You guys might recognize this one. Sorry if it's a little cheesy, but maybe the message is right.

Fight the Good Fight
by Triumph

The days grow shorter and the nights are getting long
Feels like we're running out of time
Every day it seems much harder tellin' right from wrong
You got to read between the lines

Don't get discouraged, don't be afraid, we can
Make it through another day
Make it worth the price we pay

The Good Book says it's better to give than to receive
I do my best to do my part
Nothin' in my pockets I got nothin' up my sleeve
I keep my magic in my heart

Keep up your spirit, keep up your faith, baby
I am counting on you
You know what you've got to do

CHORUS:
Fight the good fight every moment
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
It's your only way

All your life you've been waiting for your chance
Where you'll fit into the plan
But you're the master of your own destiny
So give and take the best that you can

You think a little more money will buy your soul some rest
You'd better think of something else instead
You're so afraid of being honest with yourself
You'd better take a look inside your head

Nothing is easy, nothing good is free
But I can tell you where to start
Take a look inside your heart
There's an answer in your heart

CHORUS

Fight the good fight every moment
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight every moment
Make it worth the price we pay

Every moment of your lifetime
Every minute every day
Fight the good fight everybody
Make it worth the price we pay
Yeah

OK this may seem strange but there is a song by Marshall Tucker Band that explains how I feel on some bad MS days. MS is the woman in the song. My husband thinks it's weird that I relate to this song but I really do.

Can't You See

gonna' take a freight train
down at the station, lawd
I don't care where it goes
gonna' climb a mountain
the highest mountain
I'll jump off, nobody gonna' know

can't you see
can't you see
what that woman, lawd
she been doin' to me

can't you see
can't you see
what that woman, lawd
she been doin' to me

I'm gonna' find me
a hole in the wall
I'm gonna' crawl inside and die
come a lady now
a mean old woman, lawd
never told me goodbye

I'm gonna' buy a ticket now
as far as I can
ain't a-never comin' back
buy me a southbound
all the way to Georgia now
'till the train run out of track

can't you see
can't you see
what that woman, lawd
she been doin' to me

can't you see
can't you see
what that woman, lawd
she been doin' to me

Cat
Holly - Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd

9/3/09 Stanford - Dr Dake - Stent in R-J to unblock Arachnoid Cyst in Sigmoid Sinus. Stent in narrowed L-J. Balloon in narrowing where R & L Jugulars meet.
