hi cheryl sounds like they are on the usual track, nothing suspicious about a nerve conduction study, they just suck. if you have a lumbar puncture ordered to test your cerebro-spinal fluid for oligoclonal banding, ask them about needle bevel orientation etc... and if they tell you you only need to lie down for 30 minutes after they draw the fluid, be on the safe side and lie down for a few hours to help avoid the "post lumbar puncture postural headache" which is no picnic.
good luck with the process, it is good that they are taking you seriously and ordering these tests for you. it sounds to me like there might be some action you can take to address your past and present issues. pm me if you have any interest in the nutrition side of things. there are a few others on here also, that are good for helping with nutrition info.
