Hi Cheryl

I am 37 and about to undergo an MRI next Tuesday under a general anaeasthetic of the head and spine.
I have a lot symptoms which has made the Neuro think I do have MS, OMG! I am going through a lot of stress and know how you must be feeling. I have numerous symptoms and more since my first post on this site which is under please help, i am so scared. Have a read of the posts there you may get some more advice.
My Neuro didn't want to waste time doing a nerve conduction study because he knows it is looking more like MS.

Good Luck and if you would like to chat more don't hesitate to pm me.

Hugs

Jules

hi cheryl sounds like they are on the usual track, nothing suspicious about a nerve conduction study, they just suck. if you have a lumbar puncture ordered to test your cerebro-spinal fluid for oligoclonal banding, ask them about needle bevel orientation etc... and if they tell you you only need to lie down for 30 minutes after they draw the fluid, be on the safe side and lie down for a few hours to help avoid the "post lumbar puncture postural headache" which is no picnic.
good luck with the process, it is good that they are taking you seriously and ordering these tests for you. it sounds to me like there might be some action you can take to address your past and present issues. pm me if you have any interest in the nutrition side of things. there are a few others on here also, that are good for helping with nutrition info.

l'hermitte's sign, if what you have is confirmed as l'hermitte's, would mean there is an active lesion, for some reason, in your cervical cord (neck).
it is possible to have spinal cord lesions from things other than just MS. my original spinal lesions were consistent with my b12 deficiency but later they added MS to the picture.

Doesn't need to be an active lesion. I had the sign for four years with one little itty bitty inactive lesion in my neck.

me_x_5,

You have come to the right place for help and advice. Lots of smart people that focus on whatever is going in with them or their spouse and share thier stories and research to help others.

Good luck with your test.

hmm all right then, any old lesion. my l'hermittes was around when i was diagnosed, not any more. i still get some vague scattered skin-tingling symptoms but i think that is more about long term lost nerve conductivity - don't get the reaction from moving my neck, just from getting heated up during exercise (particularly on pavement).
