I just came across a news story just posted this morning on CNN.com

"Disney turns away visitors on Segways"

Apparently, Disney does not allow Segway scooters. Four wheels are okay (wheelchairs), but not the two-wheeled scooters. MSers were mentioned in the story.

Here's a direct link to the story:

Cheers 8)

All I have to say is somebody better tell the MOUSE and quick!! LOL...

Seriously though, I can see both sides of this issue, so it's gonna be really interesting to see how it goes.
Be well,

:D WE HAVE YEAR PASSES TO DISNEYLAND AND I TELL EVERYONE IT IS THE MOST HANDI-CAPPED FRIENDLY PLACE ON EARTH. WE GET AN ASSIST-PASS, WHICH ALLOWS YOUR PARTY TO GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE AND TAKE SHORT CUTS TO MINIMIZE THE WALKING. IT IS VERY SPEEDY WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE. THE CAST MEMBERS GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO OFFER ASSISTANCE, IF NEEDED, THERE IS ALWAYS A YOUNG MALE AT EVERY RIDE AND THEY WILL STOP ANY MOVING RIDE TO ALLOW A PERSON TO GET ON. I HAVE RECENTLY STARTED TO RENT THE SCOOTER AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN'T FALL ASLEEP ON THE WAY HOME AND IT ALWAYS TOOK ME TWO ME TWO DAYS OF REST TO RECOVER, BUT NOW, I AM BACK TO MS 'NORMAL'. THE RENTAL IS ONLY $25 WITH A DEPOSIT YOU GET BACK AT THE END OF THE DAY. IT IS WONDERFUL FAMILY TRIP AND DON'T EVER LET THE MS MONSTER SPOIL IT. :P VIKKI

hi vikki,

i'm glad u enjoyed your time at the "Mouse house" lol, and i definitely agree that no one should let MS interfere with their vacation trips, however with Disney banning Segways, it *did* cause much hurt, and anger among some with MS who *do* use the Segways...

i believe i can understand Disney's position on this, since ALL segways have been recalled because of a defect in them, which can cause the user to suddenly fall forward, due to a malfunction in design....(It seems as if it will suddenly quit, and if one is on it, they could possibly fall forward, causing injury)

so all in all, i'd say your idea is probably the best-either bring your own, or as you say, rent one there, and enjoy!
