My first MRI did show lesions on my brain stem. Does this mean I have MS?

All I can tell you is that on my first MRI, I also had lesions on my brain stem. Does that mean you have MS? Possibly but not positively. It seems as if you are searching for more info. Maybe it would be helpful to go through more testing or at least talk to your neuro about your questions.

Did you get MRI's on the rest of your spine areas? What did they show?

I did and at that time I had one lesion on my brain stem and one on my cervical spine. When I was dxed 2 years later I had one on my thoracic spine.

Sounds like the docs use these MRI's to tract progress? Maybe I need to keep going getting the rest of the MRI's done so there is a baseline?

I don't know if this article has been on the site yet, but I think it's a good one to have around:

The Differential Diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis

It discusses the diagnosis of MS and other illnesses that mimic MS (or are misdiagnosed as MS). I hope that was enough explanation to make this searchable. Ken
