Did Anyone Have Toxoplasmosis?

Postby peaches » Fri Aug 28, 2009 6:11 am

I'm still in the diagnosis phase and testing phase with MRI's ... Cervical MRI found myelin sheath damage and lesions.

Everything my doctor asked me to possibly find an answer on why that might be happening was unexplained. I have not had migraines, head injury, severe infections, etc. etc. that I can think of.

Something I thought of is that I did have TOXOPLASMOSIS when I was in high school. I'm wondering if the disease or drug treatment has anything to do with the myelin sheath damage.

DID ANY OF YOU HAVE TOXOPLASMOSIS? Any insight into your neurologist's view on that? I cannot find anything in Google.

Peaches,
I have wondered about this many times. I never had toxoplasmosis, but I have had cats all my life. I still have one. It seems to me that LOTS of the members here have cats. Arti has no cats, but Arti hates cats, so I wondered if he'd been around too many as a child? (Am I right, Arti?) 8)
When I did a questionairre for Accelerated Cure Project, they asked about pets. That's probably what made me wonder about it.

Here's what the Mayo Clinic has to say about toxoplasmosis.

NHE,

After reading that now I know why the Dr does not want me to clean the litter box while on Tysabri.

I saw my neurologist this past Friday and again asked him about toxoplasmosis, but as to whether it woudl have affected the myelin sheath damage (lesions) on my brain. He really didn't think there was any connection, and didn't really see any connection with the twitching.

my toxoplasmosis was unmistakeable when I was in high school. It was in my eyes so bad that I couldn't see well...very foggy...this was in the 70's. After treatment it left me with scars deep in the back of my eyes that will always be visible to my optomologist and I will always have 'floaters'.

They say that women when pregnant should not change the litter box.
