Healing incisions from surgery?

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Healing incisions from surgery?

Post by Bubba »

Has anyone had any problems healing incisions? Wounds in general? The last three surgeries I have had, it seems almost impossible to get the tiny incisions to heal. The doctor has given me heavy doses of antibiotics, even kept me in the hospital a day longer than I needed to be, just to pump antibiotics through the IV. Is there some trick or tactic to healing? :?:

Bubba, I don't know why it happens, but I just went through this too. I had a small incision and was getting care from nurses (at home) for weeks afterwards and it just wouldn't heal. In the end, it just took time, but a lot more time than it was supposed to take.

I had a cesarean section four months ago and I healed very quickly and very well. But maybe it doesn't count, because I was pregnant.

Do you normally clot well?

Bubba,

You had mentioned that you are taking some fairly high doses of aspirin. Have you asked the doctor if this might be contributing to the slow incision healing?

@Punchy: if you 'had' a cesarean you were probably not pregnant anymore...

I'm not fond of the taste but I've heard that red wine has all kinds of healing properties. You might have to leave the beer alone for a while and dose up on the Boone's Farms.

Word of warning............DON'T trust the farts.
I have had 10 surgeries in 4 years on the same thing 8O
The Uro thinks now, that my MS has brought on the complications. Basically infections/body rejections.
But, prior surgeries I healed fine.

As far as the wine farts....what about the BEER FARTS!!!
