Hi, Im new here and have been reading all of the post's. I am looking for some feedbad as I think I have been experiencing symptom's of MS.

Two years ago was my first experiance, I felt terrible burning from my hip's going down both leg's which tingled and my muscles began to feel very weak almost like a jello feeling. I sat down because I knew my leg's would give out. That kept happening so I went to my Dr. She sent to to a back specialist. Nothing came of it other then narrowing of the faucet joints and a fracture on my spine, he said that would not cause the problem's that I am having and so he refered me to a neurologist. The neuro did an MRI and it came back clear he said I don't have MS. He prescribed me Neurotin to help for the burning etc. And that was it it help so I stopped taking it a few month's later.
Moving on...

Lately I've been experiencing brain zaps, some sort of electrical shocks and it disturbes my vision.
Last week I had a really bad one. I was just walking and got a bad zap in my head and started to see black with flashing colored circles. Them my leg's started to burn and tingle and they bacame weak. I then fell and hurt my knee, shoulder and finger's. I did not black out, but I could not see very well as all I say was blackness but I can feel my eye's moving funny like back and forth fast.
I went to the emery to get x rays as my knee hurt bad. Came back fine, just tore some ligiment's. The ER doc made a referal for me to go and see a Neuro on Feb 4.
That night I had the wort headache ever which I suffered for 3 day's. On the third day my head hurt so much I couldn't even stand up so I had to go back to the ER to get a shot of Demoral to help with the pain. It helped, I still have a dull headache though.

Now a week and a half later My legs feel very off like pin's and needles, and a very heavy feeling like someone has put cement on my feet. My muscles are very sore and painful. My vision is very blurry, and I feel very dizzy, I have pressure in the back of my skull near the neck.

For the past 3 years I have been getting sick alot with cold's, flu's, bowel problem's, Im alway's so tired I go to bet at 7:30 or 8:00pm as I just feel so drained. I have headaches all the time. The burning and tingeling in both my leg's, now the brain zap's. I have very bad memory trouble, can't remember much actually, ex: forgetting appointments and daily thing's. Or if I just poured myself a glass of pop I will put the bottle in the cupboard instead of the fridge not realizing.

Sorry for such a long post but I just want to know if this sound's like MS and if anyone experiences these symptom's.
Thanks for replying in advanced!

Yes, that has been ruled out.

Just to begin with, I have not been diagnosed yet...
The brain zap you experienced was one of my symptoms(tho I havent had one in a couple months) I would just be at work on the phone and it would happen...then my pupils would dilate like crazy...it always made me take about a 10 minute break from the phones cuz it was just a really weird feeling.
one time I had the "zap" I was grocery shopping...and after I had that zap my speech problem got worse and i couldnt hear very well.
Now the last time I had it I was sitting in the recliner trying to relax from a full day of first aid classes and I had the zap and then my right arm went numb(not a stroke)...that one was the scariest.
Hope you get some answers soon!!!

Hey pixie,
My story is similar to yours BUT please dont think that means you have MS! Please get checked out by your doctor. I think a lot of times people are intimidated ,when their MRI is initially clear, to bring up the possibility of MS again to their doctor even though they are experiencing MS symptoms. It might not be a bad idea to contact the neurologist you saw two years ago and run your symptoms by him and see what he/she thinks. Good luck and please keep us posted and if you just need to "talk" or vent there is no better place then thisisms. Well maybe your local pub but hangovers on top of the symptoms you describe really stink. Trust me in that one!!!!!

Hi Pixie

I totally identify with your story and actually the fact that you had several episodes of flu lately makes me think that you should definitely visit the antibiotics section as well as CPn Help.org, you sound like a good candidate for c. pneumonia infection wich is believed to cause MS.
Hope this helps and keep us posted.

many of your symptoms ring bells with me - as side effects of malnutrition.. any reason that might be a suspect?

keeping in mind that not just low food intake but wrong food intakes, intakes of things that drain nutrients, including some prescription drugs, other nutrient drains like strenuous exercise, stress, caffeine etc...

might be something to look into, but you have to look at your lifestyle in general to get a sense of whether this thought fits...

thinkin out loud,

No, I don't think that is a possibility as I eat a well balanced diet. I do drink coffee though but only 1 cup each morning. I have just the normal everyday stresses. I am an avid paddler but have been for 20 years and never experienced this ever before. I did take blood test's from the doc to see if I was lacking in anything, and that came back good.
Thank you for your reply and for your view on what it might be.

I have actually have been to the doc's alot latley the last few month's, with sinus infection, cold's, ear infection's. Doctor's don't always check properly. I had an ear infection for 3 month's strait. I kept going back to the doc and they kept putting me on antibiotic's. I was in so much pain from the infection so I googled with my symptoms and I found out that I may have a fungal infection in both ear's. So I went to the emerg as I was in excruciating pain. I told him that I think it is a fungal infection and that I have had this for 3 months. I showed him what came out of my ear. He said it was just a build up of wax. He sent me to an ENT. When I went there he was shocked. It WAS a FUNGUS infection. A really bad one wigh cause a polyp and a large hole in the ear drum. He told me that all the antibiotic's I was on made the infection worse as fungus thrives on antibiotics. Now I have a bit of hearing imparement in my right ear. I finally just got rid of the infection 1 month ago.
Thanks for your reply and I'm sorry this was a long post.
