Does that seem right to you? It's a particularly bad exacerbation: I can barely see, I can barely move my legs, I can barely feel my hands and legs except for some excruciating burning, a few others. My usual exacerbation is pretty bad, and the two times I've had MRI's done during them, they've shown 'HUGE' round lesions according to my doctors and radiologists. The leg pain is persistent though, and it never really stopped, but it just recently flared right up to 11... I was wondering if it's possible that it might stop eventually; if any of you may have a thought on it?

But I digress... doesn't 1250 mg of oral prednisone for 3 days seem like a lot? I've been on that much before, and I may just be looking for an excuse not to take it again (it tastes like $H!^, and the after taste is the corn), but won't it completely tank my immune system?

Some reading, with a published study saying IV is better than oral for O.N.

One of the posts above tell of being given 1250 in the morning then 1000 in the evening. I remember the first time I heard of these doses I searched on the internet, and found even higher doses were used for some other conditions.

As for tanking your immune system, I think that is part of your neuro's idea (I personally also believe and have previously found studies that say it closes the BBB)

Yeah. I guess with an autoimmune condition that tanking the immune system would be the solution in extreme cases.
Thanks for the clarification. I was just concerned that I'd not be able to go out. I'll just wear the face-mask though.
