I have taken gilenya for the past year and have just been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia cancer! I am a 34 yr old male and besides having MS am in great health. I have no history of this in my family and am convinced that the cause of it is from Gilenya! When my neurologist found out about this he immediately had me stop taking it and wrote a letter to the FDA regarding Gilenya. I am currently typing this message as I am laid up in the hospital going through my 3rd round of chemotherapy! I am in need of having a bone marrow transplant in order to have a life expectancy longer than 5 years!! If anyone is taking this medicine or is thinking about it I would strongly advise against it! The risks of taking it totally outweigh the benefits it could have. I would much rather be in a wheelchair than going through what I'm dealing with now!
MS is a horrible disease but it's nothing compared to this type of cancer....

Thanks for your support! :-)
I will be doing more than treating it though, I WILL be BEATING it!! :-)
The dr.'s say from my last 2 rounds of chemo I have had the fastest recovery time that they have seen.
Mind over matter! ;-)
They have also found a matching donor for the bone marrow transplant so that should be taking place in early March if all goes as planned!
