i remember watching it on the old RCA my folks had. it was the one that actually had a remote. the remote was about 9" x 5" and about 2" thick. it had 12 numbered buttons for channels and a + and -, on and off button. if you held it to your ear it made this clicking noise. it also had a stereo and 8 track and to boot a record player. it was the first of it's kind not just for the neighborhood, but the entire town. good times good times. my parents would put it on hee haw before they went out dancing. we had this black lady watch us while they were out, her name was cookie. she also helped mom around the house. man i wonder where she is? she was alot of fun for two little white kids 8O

This made me call my mom last night and ask her about Cookie. Mom told me that she was still around but worked in the town just north of them at a nursing home as an LVN. Said she was doing good. Funny how someone "pops" in your memory bank 30 years later. She was always fun to be around. She made us popcorn one night and burned it. Me and sis had damp towels going through the house waving them around to try and get the smoke out before mom and dad got backed. it didn't work. We had a good laugh about that later in life.... :D
