28yr old male, not Dx'd yet, scared

im sorry for the punctuation ahead of time, there is more to life than worrying about puntuation and grammar...LOL. I know there are tons of people that post and say the same thing, but I now know why they ask these questions. Quick run down. for the past 4-5 months been having neck pain. I also was in an accident three years ago which i suffered a cracked C-7 and herniated disks in L-5 area. i went to emergency about a month ago because my neck was hurting too bad to handle anymore. had tons of MRI's, the brain showed no lesions, but there was demylenation in neck nerves. they admitted me and i was out a couple days later with a dx of not MS but possibly is MS and to follow up with my PCP, BLah blah blah...

I have followed up last friday and he looked at the MRI's. he said the written results sound weird and not correct. he faxed and called the head of radiology and he aslo said that the results look like they were written wrong, and that the first thing that comes to him after looking at the results is MS! So i am stumped because the hospital says i dont have it ( although the neuro doc that saw me was the type that thinks im 28 so i cant possibly have any probs like this). But the doc's that seriously care about my well being have all said its MS.

What do you guys think? I know this is lengthy but my appointment with head of neuro is a month away. my symptoms are, weak in the left arm, left leg is numb and tingling all the way down, I have been super tired lately (which i attribute to the pain meds, but they never did this to me before), i make my son's bottle and test it on my arms and i actually burn my arms but feel nothing. i ask my wife to test it and she about jumps it so hot! my thumbs twitch ALOT, my memory is even worse than it was before, and when im talking; sometimes i will go into like this stuttering mode and i cant find the word or i can find the word and it will come out stuttery. and lastly, My knee joints hurt so bad I can barely bend down to pick up my 7 month old without crying. Im so scared, I dont want my wife to know right now because i dont want her to worry for no reason if i dont have ms.

I am so sorry to hear of your trouble's believe me you came to the right place...(lot's of info)...unfortunately, we all have gone through the "not knowing" MS isn't a really quick disease to diagnose unfortunately (we don't have time for BS), but did your doc do a western blot test for Lyme disease or even work-up for Lupus? I know most do before diagnosing MS...hope this help's a lil...God Bless you and your's...
GOD BLESS.... CCSVI treatment Dr. Siskin great doc....symptom's improved for about 3 week's (gait, balance, spasticity) now back to square 1...

Yeah I don't have lupus for sure, Lyme disease however, I don't know if he tested me for that or not. He is a very good and caring doc and believed I was in pain when noone else would. I will ask to get it done, I know it's a very specific test. Thanks for the reply! God bless right back at cha! God has a plan for everything and will not give us more than we can handle!

Hi Marcus!

I'm sorry about what you're going through--I know how scary it must be.
The other docs you mention--have you seen a second neurologist? Maybe even one that specializes in MS? If not, you might want to. It's absolutely possible that you don't have it--and I hope you don't! I was initially told it was highly unlikely that I had it--and found out I did, about four years later.
Some are also told they probably have it, and don't! So make sure you get a second opinion from a neurologist, rather than an internist.

Hang in there, and stay as positive as you can. And don't give up on getting answers! If you do end up getting that news, don't assume the worst--despite what's going on now. Not everyone has extreme issues--and you could be one of the lucky ones!

I wish you the best!

im seeing another neurologist mid may. he is the head of neurology, so i would expect he knows, but then again...maybe not with the way health care is. i wouldnt be too scared, but a few days ago i started to not have feeling in my right arm. i have family, so naturally anyone would be worrying. i just dont like how i dont have any pinched nerves but am losing feeling in my arms...weird i think... thank you both for you words o wisdom. its nice to know that there are really nice and caring people in the world!

Sorry to hear you are going thru this, and especially with a family. It's so hard not being able to do the things we use to do with them. I am still in the process of being diagnosed, and have active 3 boys, a household, and part time career. The last 3 months have been so though, but it's nice to know there are people out there who are going thru the same thing and can support you. Or just listen when we need to vent. Or give you words of wisdom or a laugh when you need it. Hang in there, and I hope the best for you and your family!

Thank you so much. I actually have had problems for quite a while but since I'm the type that doesn't see a doc unless I really think I'm going to die, they didn't find till a couple months ago. Hang inthere!

I'm with you marcus. I have been getting the run around for 6 months, and now have nearly the same symptoms as you. I got all of this for my 30th birthday. Good luck, and I'm sure the fols will be helpful. i've been here a week and they've been really helpful.

hang in there shucks. I had a neuro appointment today and he seems pretty convinced it is MS. scheduled a new MRI on brain neck and lumbar to see the whole spinal cord. He said since I have been having this problem for a few months now and it keeps getting worse, that there is a good chance of seeing lesions this time.
I also found out today that I am anemic. did some research and found that you have a higher risk of MS if you are "prone" to anemia. I guess if your body has a hard time processing iron it causes a reaction that can cause MS. lots of info and i really am doing it now justice trying to explain. ill add the link to the site at the bottom. anyways, this usually applies to women since both MS and anemia happen more in women. I am 200 counts low which is causing the anemia, so I am thinking that is not good news for me. but we shall see.
take care shucks. its a hard road to a DX, but i think i am almost there!

Hang in there Marcus. I've hed ms symtoms for 20 yrs. Going through an exacerbation (relapse) right now. Please don't keep stuff from your family. They are going to be with you through this and it's not fair to them if you're not completely honest. Also, please do not wait to see your doctor when new things start effecting you. Timing is very important. If you feel anything wierd going on, call your doctor ASAP. Sometimes getting treatment immediatly was the only thing keeping me walking instead of being bed bound. Stay active, healthy and don't get overhated

I forgot to mention that I did actually tell my family after all. It's hard on us but knowing my wife will never leave me no matter what and having the best sin in the world, makes me feel a lot more at peace with everything. Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I try to call as soon as weirdo things start to happen, but I am a disabled vet(completely different issue) and I have VA care. They get pretty backed up at times, so I debate whether it's worth goin to the er for or not, that's the only way I'll get seen ASAP. :(

What did you mean by overhated? Did you mean overheated?
