Long time lurker, first time poster.

Hi all!

I've been coming here on and off for the past 3 years ever since my dx. Thanks to this site I have been using copious amounts of vitamin d3 and have managed to stave off most debilitating symptoms and major relapses, even though I live in the Persian/Arab Gulf where the weather and diet are very MS unfriendly.

Two weeks ago I was hit with what I would consider a major setback. Playing guitar is my main and only hobby and the only thing that keeps me positive/sane. Well, my left/fretting hand is near useless, wrecking 12 years I've invested into the instrument. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I could do. I am loathe to go to the neuro and although I feel this relapse has largely subsided my symptoms keep getting worse every day. I've since propped up my bed on an incline which has greatly helped the pins and needles and numbness in my feet but has done nothing for my arms, hands and fingers. Maybe I should just be more patient. I've added all supplementation I could find on here to my daily supplement doping but I haven't seen any positive results come of it, and I've been taking them over a week. if anyone has experience with muscle atrophy, loss of sensation/control and weakness in the hand and fingers, I would appreciate your input regarding what I could do. I still try to play but it brings me down to be so inept and imprecise, I do use a hand exercise tool but it hasn't helped.

Thank you in advance!

hi there!

when i couldn't play guitar i went for singing lessons, but fortunately my hands did come back via a modified oral mini-klenner protocol, which i've documented here: regimens-f22/topic2489-315.html#p190866

can you be specific re your current supplement regimen? i might be able to comment, if i see anything that could stand to be tweaked.

also, have you had any nutritional bloodwork done?
my approach: no meds so far - just nutrient-dense anti-inflammatory whole foods, and supplements where needed

I bought a pair of these hand exercisers a few years ago. I tried all of the different brands in the store (the Prohands was not carried by the store I went to). There were about 8-10 different models. Although these are rather simple looking, the curved handles were the most comfortable. A bonus was that they were also one of the less expensive units available! I find that they help my grip even though they don't exercise the fingers individually.
