I meant to add to my last question, but hit submit, before I remembered. I seem to be doing that alot lately.
I and 2 other doctors have suggested MS. I am keeping an open mind and trying not to jump to any conclusions.
But in all my years searching for answers, the MS or what seems to be some type of auto immune thing, this is starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together, instead of just turning puzzle pieces over.
I was wondering if anyone knows if respiratory infections are common with MS?
I have had 3 bouts of atypical pneumonia and as many cases of bronchitis over the last 4 years. plus many I just never went to the doctor for. Because they do not respond to antibiotics and seem to linger forever. again, getting a little better, then back full force.
I live in a pristine environment, rocky mountains. so not polluted air.
I do have autoimmune problems, re-occurring epstein Barr, whatever that is, herpes and was on a course of interferon treatment years ago when stuff really started to decline for me. I also have Hep C which I got either sexually, (rare) more likely from a massive blood transfusion after a very bad skiing accident 35 years ago.
For the last 12 years or so, doctors, who I tended to avoid, said my symptoms were due to Hepc.
I know people with this disease and have lived with it for 20 years before the diagnosis, but my symptoms do not fit flu like symptoms, not the muscle spasms, brain "paralysis", where I know what to do, but just can't seem to get it in gear.
thanks for letting me vent and any thoughts on the re-occuring respiratory issues.
Some recent labs showed I had very high iron and ferriten levels. They ruled out hemochromatosis and I rarely drink.
The high ferriten could be from the hepC, but the iron??
please excuse any typos or misspelled words as this happens frequently lately
